Dear friends of this forum. It is with sadness that I post this message. Many of you have responded to my posts and attempted to help. I am still very interested in this subject. However, I must quit attempting OBE for awhile. I feel it is ruining my physical life and relationships. I had the one "near?" OBE that I posted earlier [/b] (Nobody replied to that)
I do not know what I am doing wrong or if OBE is even possible. I enjoy relaxation/trance/and energy work, and will continue those. These leave me feeling better and peaceful. OBE attempts are leaving me depressed/tired/aching. I would still be interested in talking in chat, one on one, with someone who has projected. IF anyone is willing to do that, please send me a Yahoo IM. I will be in and out of this forum still, but not posting or attempting OBE. Thank You all who have helped again. I sincerely wish all of you and this site the best and mainy Blessings |

Don't push yourself too much on trying to achieve an OBE; it is important that you do not put all this weight on your shoulders because it seems that you feel depressed after... Since some times now I rarely try to have an OBE but luckily I started to have projections during my sleep. The same might happen to you also after some time but never put OBEs as ''the absolute goal'' in life... Just put it in the ''things I might like to do'' in life.

Ruining your physical life and relationships? Oh dear. Sorry to hear that... sounds like you were throwing yourself at this too hard if it got to the point where it was being detrimental to other areas of your life.
I haven't had a consciously induced OBE, just a spontaneous one, so I understand your frustration... but I do feel that one successful OBE is worth all the failed tries, and I keep at it, in full knowledge that I'll be able to do it when I'm ready. I've come to see astral travel as the journey rather than the destination, and for now am enjoying developing a stronger energy body. I had some luck inducing projection sensations, watching my hands melt in a lucid dream (it brought me back into my body and started the exit) but the resulting discomfort of the sensations made me stop and think that energetic body development was worth the time and effort before getting too deeply into astral travel. RB makes it pretty clear that achieving an exit and consciously remembering the projection requires a delicate balance between waking and sleeping, astral and physical and that the right circumstances have to be brought about before this can happen. Have you looked into phasing at all? A lot of beginner OBEs apparently find that method a bit easier to tackle, of traditional OBEs are proving to be too challenging. Chacun a son gout... Good luck! Sorry it didn't work out. |

OBE attempts are leaving me depressed/tired/aching. It's ok to stop trying for awhile- You have to 'recharge your batteries'.
Keep the relaxation/trance/energy work, and you will be surprised. Instead of 'giving up' give yourself a vacation, and remember your exit techniques, because after you're recharged you may find yourself in the middle of a spontaneous OBE and will want to know what to do next. When I had a similar problem I stopped trying for 3 months, and when I started again I OBE'd like the second week I tried. You have to do what's best for you- but keep reading and stay in touch! Regards, CF |
