Default Need opinions on a couple experiences
I am just starting to try to do astral projection.....I just bought "The Book." I astral projected when I was about 7. And I KNOW I did.

Several months ago, I was listening to an out of body tape. There were a few times where I think I probably started to fall asleep while listening to it and I would jolt awake because I heard a loud noise (maybe droning). It's hard to descibe now as it has been a while. Now....maybe I was just snoring...any thoughts.

The other thing was, I was lying on my side. I don't even think the tape was playing, I was just going to bed or taking a nap. However, as I started to fall asleep, this bright light appeared in front of me and became bigger and bigger. It happened so fast (the light rushed at me) that I litereally jumped back in bed a foot or 2 and woke up.

Thank you for any thoughts and humoring me. Maybe I was just dreaming in both instances. However, the light thing was very startling.

Another thing.... when I was listening to these tapes, I would start to sleep lighter (more dreams) and have more difficulty falling asleep. I am the sort of person that can put their head on a pillow and be sleeping 30 seconds later. Is this normal?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I can't say about the light- if you have been doing energy-raising exercises maybe you saw it coming into you with your astral sight, but that is just a guess.
Practicing for AP will definitely will change your sleeping patterns, at least at first. Don't be surprised after a while that you find yourself passing out in the middle of an exercise. All this is normal, because you are teaching your brain to do something different than what it's used to.
ps. If I had a thing with light I would think it's a good thing. I guess the question is how did you feel as it came into you (besides surprise?)

Thank you for your reply.

I am not so sure it came into me..... It just happened so quickly. It started as a pinpoint and grew very large as it rushed towards me. The time it took to do this was about 2 seconds or so. I may have been a bit scared as it was very intense. Maybe I am confusing the surprise as frightening.
