Whenever I have tried to discuss my experiences with my family I always get the feeling that they think I am crazy. I was brought up in a Christian family. Over a year ago I talked with my mother about my OBE's. She listened and we talked but since then she has never shown interest in discussing it. She has the view of most Christians that any its not possible to move outside of the body unless, " GOD HAS WILLED IT".

Anyone else have this same problem talking to people about their OBE's?

I typically have an idea who will really listen to me and who will not. I determine this by getting to know someone. I do not discuss such things with strangers.

Those who I know will not listen, I don't discuss it with. The majority will not listen.

By listen I mean hear and truly consider.

No i havent discussed it with anyone in my family but the person who teaches me energy ways used to learn astral projection and his family still knows of it.He told me about his mum thought he was turning really weird(she is cool though)and kinda a freak lol.But after about a year she didnt mind it blew over except his brother who is my age and says its crap and theres no point in it and he was saying he has been losing his memory and stuff and telling me 2 stop but i dont care.

Well im not sure maybe you could say something similar to this"i understand mum but i want to stand for my beleives i still beleive god exists but i want 2 find him out there while me experiencing life 2 the fullest" and then say and i want you 2 help and beleive me on this.

Well you could try 2 explain her like that if you have already well im not entirely sure another relative perhaps.I'm not sure really there are some people out there that are learning this the other day my teacher(kinda teacher he is 16) found me an Astral Projection Buddy and a very nice person 2 even though we've only talked on msn twice and she is well 3 years older then me.

Apart from the odd "ooo" and "wow..that's interesting," I get the impression that most people are as eager to listen to obe experiences as they are our dreams....as in...not very much.

Yeah...same here. If they only knew how awesome they are. My mother can not recall her dreams at all. When I even descibe my dreams she shows little or no interest.

Keep in mind the rule that 'like attracts like'. I would be inadvisable to close off your experiences to anyone and everyone outside of the internet. In time, people may come to you in real life with assistance or for assistance.

Im wondering if OBE ability is passed on or if some people are awarded the ability somehow. I can talk with both of my parents about AP. Sometimes I do wonder if I am telling them too much because my mom tells me that I need God. I have my beliefs but the way she tells me is as if the whole AP thing is an evil threat.

There are many theories revolving around this. Many believe that the majority of people are born with specific potent abilities (that vary from person to person), but that all abilities are available to everyone if time is spent developing them. That which determines which abilities are natural to someone has be theorized to originate from many things, such as a hidden gene, family acceptance and encouragement at an early age, and/or past life experiences and progress.
