Default Almost there but fail to fear of Astral Noise everytime HELP
Hi,
I have been around the forum for a while just checking out the different topics and reading some opinions. I have has AP symptoms (ie. heavy vibrations, astral noises, catelepsy) long before I even heard of AP. I am about half way through Astral Dynamics, and have read some interesting stuff.
I have my own technique to reach a trance state on demand and it seems to work (sit in my massage recliner with a blanket over me and get a massage for about 20 minutes then turn it off and let nature take its course.), or Ill go the natural way and wait for it to come to me which can be rare.
Here is my question,
All goes well until the astral noises start to surround me, and catylepsy kicks in. I freak at this point, lose all progress and return to reality my body feeling quite sluggish. Does anyone know of a successful technique to endure the astral noises and catylepsy so I can actually move on to the next step? As soon as I start to feel uncertanity I try to tell myself there is nothing to be afraid of but by the time I do this, I've pretty much killed the whole experience.
Thanks for your time

I suffer the same fears. I'm always convinced that someone is burgaling the house and I crap myself up and it spoils it. I think that the best thing to do is know what it is and ignore it and let it pass. easier said than done I know...let me know if you overcome it and how

What I do is set up an environment where I most likely will not be disturbed. I close the door to my room, turn off my phone, close the window, and sometimes put in earplugs. I then tell myself that anything I will hear is not real. Then, if I hear anything, I tell myself it is the Noise. In this manner, hearing noises encourages me that I'm making good progress.

Once you're in paralysis you're basically out, except for the mental part (just like you're saying)

What I've started to do lately which seems to work really well is like a 'saftey-cap' type of exit process. I will watch behind my eyelids for the hypnagogic color blobs for a little bit and maybe do another visualization in order to get into paralysis.

When I'm paralysed I focus on the feeling of gravity which will cause me to start to shift out of body after a few seconds if I'm deep enough in paralysis. If I'm not deep in paralysis enough then I will get a lot of vibrations. I know at that point to relax fa littel deeper then try again.

Once I've shifted a few inches down out of my body, I create a twisting feeling force so that my head rotates down 180 degrees to my feet. When I'm made it the full 180s degrees I know I'm completely out and it's safe for me to start moving my limbs.

Usually to finish the exit I'll imagine my legs forming underneath me, I just create them there rather than trying to pull them out of my physical body.

Maybe in your case what would help to avoid the fears is to give your mind something to do such as focusing on the force of gravity to press yourself out.

These are great answers you guys, Ill try some of them. I keep telling myself its going to be okay and then once Im up to that point, I just freak and go back. Although last time I was in this state, I dont think I saw anything but for some reason I imagined(or maybe did see) a brunette lady around late twenties early thirtys in a yellow ball-room dress.

I just thought of something...You mean you can still hear astral noises with ear plugs in your ears? So does that mean that it all exists in the head/ brain? I thought our brains when reaching a higher level of consciousness "tap" into hearing higher levels of frequencies not possible to hear in the "real" world. Please offer your .02

You've got all your senses in an OBE, and then some. However these sense don't have anything to your actual physical sense organs. It does not all exist in your head, you have a nonphysical body you're using to go explore with when you do an OBE.

If you're hearing nonphysical noises then it means your consciousness is focused into your nonphysical body. The nonphysical body hears things both while still inside and when out of the physical body

Thanks for the replies Matt.
I was taken by surprise naturally last night. I awoke from my sleep and started feeling some light vibrations that never really increased. I started to feel a cold clammy hands feeling on the sides of my body, and actually felt like someone jumped over my face and tried to hurt me but I stuck with it and it went away. The next feeling I had was an upward lifting motion from my head and feet. My mid torso area remained so I never got that full lifitng out sensation I guess your supposed to get. During this lifting stage I heard a light gushing wind passing by my ears.
Preyy interesting I think Ill start to keep a log going.

Yeah, post the logs in this thread, it will be interesting to see how things progress. I definitely recommend trying a rotation or twisting feeling in addition to (or before) the lifting feeling. Rotating your nonphysical body seems to take less force to pull away than moving it in a linear motion and once you're rotated a bit you know for sure that you're out so it's a big confidence booster.

On the topic of rotation, I've done some exercises with the chair I'm sitting in. For instance, if the chair I'm meditating in is facing North, I would mentally swivel by chair so that it is facing South (once deep enough in meditation to do it). I then picture the room from that perspective. By 'picture the room' I mean imagine seeing the room as I would if I opened by eyes and was actually in that altered position.

I've had varying success with this, but I figure I'd share it for your benefit.

That's an interesting approach, I'll try that. When teleporting in an OBE it's a similar process for me of visualizing my surroundings changing to the new location

Thanks sorlac, Ill keep that in mind when this happens again. Funny I wonder if how a projection goes depends on your mood because last night I wasnt afraid at all, I just "turned back" because the gushing air sounded like I left a window open but when I awoke, all was so quite in my room. there have been other time when I have been scared and fought to get out of it because the pre-projection symptoms were much worse (louder noises, heavier vibrations)
