Default OBE-Gene
I heard from a lot of people who project spontanously or did project as children that their children also do it...
So i wondered if its possible that there exists something like an OBE-Gene that is more active in some people than in others and that would allow to inherit this ability. what do you think about it?

My opinion is that it has to do with what kind of sleeper you are. I am a light sleeper who wakes up every 4 hours- I have probably slept through the night 3 or 4 nights in my 48 years. I believe that light sleepers have more awareness of the OBE, because IMO everybody does it, but if they are asleep then they can't remember. So, in my case, my son is also a light sleeper- I think I mentioned in another post that the first time he slept through the night he was 2! And of course, like me, he wakes up every 4 hours. Same sleep patterns. Now, at eight, I don't call them OBEs, because I don't want to frighten him into giving his nightmares reality, but I call them "special dreams"- he tells me on his special dreams he flies around the house and has seen our dog who passed away 6 months ago. So I've explained to him that I also have those special dreams that next time he's flying to come get me and I'll fly with him. I've kind of introduced the idea of part of his mind going around- sometimes in his own mind(dream) and sometimes around the house but without leaving his body- more like using binoculars- and he doesn't seem frightened by this idea. If he continues reporting projections that seem like OBE's and can be somehow verified, then I'll broach the projection subject. So going back to the subject of the topic, I don't think we have an OBE gene, but it's our sleep patterns that determine our projection recall- and I don't know if that's genetic- A brain scientist would know that.

I can agree with CFTraveler. I've experienced these things from a young age, and from a young age I never slept for more than 4-6 hours at a time. I was a terrible sleeper as a child - always getting up at 6am and such.
My Dad, who hasn't experienced anything to his knowledge like an OBE has similar sleeping habits. For the past 40+ years he's gotten up at 5-6 am (even though he's been retired for the past 5-10 years). He experiences sleep paralysis a lot, and seems to have a lot of 'flying dreams' .

My brother who always would get 8-10 hours a night sleep never experienced anything OBE like (although when we shared bunkbeds - during a period of regular OBE experiences he seemed to project a few times too - due to proximity to me?)

I imagine it has to do with how much people corrupt their children with materialist crap. Once the kid believes the things they can do are either imaginary and pointless, or bad and dangerous, they'll stop doing those things (because everything bad the kid does has consequences). If such behavior is considered normal, or even encouraged, it will develop as it should.

Perhaps because children inherit their parent's genes, they have extremely similar physical and mental patterns as their parents. And if you think about it this way, if the parents have the correct physical and mental requirements for projecting easily, the children must too

Would you agree?
