Hi xbhoff,
Congrats on the experience! I can't comment on your dream, but I've had similar OBE experiences. I had a general lack of control as well and it was all I could do to slowly turn myself around and shoot back into my body. I especially like the golf analogy for OBEing. You can try to do a power drive and hit it somewhere in the trees, get somewhere you want to go (like the green) but lack the certain "touch" necessary to really get exactly where you want to go... but we all know golf explains life's great mysteries - well a few beyond life in this case. Hi all, glad to see this forum is up and running. I've been doing NEW energy work for about a month now, also trying to induce conscious OBE with the ROPE technique -- oh so close, yet oh so far. It's all new stuff for me; hearing Robert on the radio a while back was the trigger that started it all.
A couple of weeks ago I had done an hour or so of NEW work in bed at night; rolled over and soon fell asleep as the whole body was still buzzing and charging. Some time later, while dreaming that I was lying in bed trying to project, I suddenly awoke with a start (the same suddenness as if it were a nightmare) and my entire body was buzzing, vibrating, shaking, strobing, rattling, and screaming to "get out". Conscious that I was still lying on my side, I forced myself to roll over on my back. Still groggy from sleep, but somehow alert to what was happening, I reacted without thinking and grabbed for "the rope" and began pulling. With a few quick pulls I suddenly plopped out of myself with a sort of splurt, as if I had been ejected from a seed pod. Now keenly aware that I was suddenly out of body, I sought to "take control" and that's where I guess I lost it. I looked for my hands (could see nothing), tried to float or fly (but just began sinking), but at least had the presence to force a keyword phrase into my mind to help remember it all as I quickly sank back into myself in bed. I lay in bed fully awake for several minutes forcing myself to retain memories of what had just happened, and it was the better part of an hour before I was able to calm down and go back to sleep. I'm certain this all happened while conscious, yet it's odd that it erupted from within a dream experience. I've not had any success with conscious OBE projection, but the "physical memory" of this experience is so strong and revealing that it's a powerful incentive for me to keep on with the energy work and regular attempts at projecting. I'm certain that this experience was somehow "given" to me for that very reason. Since then I've had a "regular" dream in which I was seated in the nose cone of a small 6-seater private jet as it taxied out for take off, then suddently shot straight up into an accelerated vertical climb as I was pressed solidly back into my seat. Clearly that's related to the recent experiences with energy work and projection attempts -- don't know if I'm trying to read too much into it, but it too seemd like a "message" dream for me. (William H. Macy was the flight attendatnt in that dream, by the way -- William is my first name, and H. is the first inital of my last name...) I'm taking all this in stride -- noting, observing, smiling, and confirming that while progress is happening, it only comes about with regular application of effort and attitude. It's like builiding a good golf swing -- natural ability helps, but you'll only get real results if you first learn how to feel what your hands and body are doing, then how to control them. Comments are welcome. Glad to be here. |
