They have called Kentucky. Teapartier Rand Paul, son of Ron Paul wins over Mitch McConnell's (and the Republican establishment) hand picked successor for Jim Bunning. Expect talk radio to be prepping the obituary for the Democrat majority as tomorrow's talking point.

A few primary contests in four states, several of which won't even be close, and I'm giddy as a schoolgirl because it's ELECTION NIGHT!!!!

I love U.S. politics.

Of course I'd love it if the anti-incumbent sentiment travels far into the Northeast to reach two little towns in Maine just west of the State Capitol...

But I digress.

I think Specter will eek out a victory. But I can't imagine I would have cast a vote for him if I lived there.

And yet from the numbers I saw coming out of Kentucky earlier, it looks like there were at least over 115,000 more votes cast in the democratic primary than republican.

If the dems hold on to Murtha's seat, and progressives oust Lincoln in Arkansas, I think it's time to question all of the teabagger rhetoric the MSM has subjected us to of late, and wonder who exactly is really motivated out there in America.

It's all Obama's fault.

Specter is cooked. According to FOX News (via AP).

FOX's coverage tonight has been an absolute riot. They're making a monstrous deal of the fact that Obama didn't support Specter in the latter days.

::

They're loving the victory in KY due to the teabaggers they spawned. You've gotta love it when "media" outlets affect elections. Hilarious.

I don't know if it was reported nationally, but all the local channels were making a big deal about the fact that President Obama flew over Pennsylvania on his way to speak in Ohio, and wasn't stopping to do anything for Specter. And Biden, who was a long time friend of Specter even when he was a Republican, didn't help either today.
