Default Documentaries?
Ok...I think you guys know the drill, by now. I love good documentaries...all sorts....political and not.

I'm about to watch 'Inside Job', hoping it's not just spin, and 'Gasland', soon...but I also have and like documentaries on all sorts of things...'Land Without Bread' is totally absent of spin, and one of my favorites. The most recent I saw was 'The Most Hated Family in America', just this weekend.

What are your favorite documentaries, fellow junkies?

I don't remember if it was PBS or the History Channel that ran it, but they did a documentary on the revolutionary war that was fascinating.

Both channels run so many fascinating documentaries, I understand not remembering the name or place of any in particular. Great channels!

I believe it was on PBS a few months ago, but it was called If Marijuana Cured Cancer, I think it was really good, but I was kinda baked the first time I watched it, I've been meaning to give it a second more "sober" viewing, but for some reason I forgot where I stashed it (I have it on DVD)...

LOL!

With a recommendation like that...it seems like a must-see.

Crap.

He was an atheist and followed Chomsky, and they turned him into a war hero...missing out entirely on the fact that he was...but not their kind of hero.

Chomsky???
Yeah.
Apparently, Tillman became incredibly disillusioned with the wars...actually opposed the invasion of Iraq from the beginning. All the guys in his platoon say he was a real thoughtful guy, and he'd talk about Chomsky a lot. The only reason he stayed in was he'd committed to three years, and he was good to his word.

One of his last actions did save a fellow soldier...the guy was praying, and Tillman told him to quit, and keep his head on straight - his god wasn't going to save him, he needed to be able to think clearly.

No problem! If you get the chance check out the movie. I was wrong about some of the things I had thought about Tillman.

Fuck (2005) "This documentary takes a look on all sides of the infamous F-word. It's taboo, obscene and controversial, yet somehow seems to permeate every single aspect of our culture - from Hollywood, to the schoolyard to the Senate floor in Washington D.C. It's the word at the very center of the debate on Free Speech - and everyone seems to have an opinion."
