I had some questions about the paddle-offically known as a blade..

While I have played most of my life & some of the guys I play w/ have been playing longer than I have been alive it seems we don't really know much about the paddle & which is best & why.........

I played tonight as usual but I was not playing very well........

I switched to an old sandpaper paddle & immdediately my game improved......WTF

From everything I have known & read, (again tonight goggling) the rubber paddles are superior....... & yet??

Thoughts?? Insight???
