I might have to see this one..............

But what will come of it??

Ppl will be entertained for a couple hours, maybe even toss it around w/ a neighbor but it will not result in action..........

As you can see it is both parties in on this, simply an extension of wallstreet......

As the last guy in the trailer says, the bankrobbers say the same thing........

They can not afford to have their actions decriminalized like the wallstreeters can-that is the only difference...........

If a guy grabs your wife's purse he will do some time.......... If he steals her pension (worth much, much more) he will get a bonuses & a pay raise, compliments of you & I, oh & your wife............

(of course, overall, a fairly boring program tonight)

It needs to be kept in front of those that are brain washed and believe it's the Teachers, Unions etc. that have caused the States and the Country to go broke...along with all the other ways we're being robbed by the corporate corruption.

Personally I could care less about those awards from the mutual admiration society........ I have not watched it, willingly (@ some ones house) as long as I can remember......

But the only reason I commented was I do think this is a worthy film......

I am a bit surprised no one on the right has come along & told us this was just a political pick by the left wing radical dopers in hollywood........

I guess they are afraid someone might ask them if they actually watched it......

Likely not many would have the balls to do so.......... Best wait for the beck review.........

I don't watch either...but I have in the past. I heard about this and how good the acceptance speech was...so I passed it on. I've read some reviews..this looks really good. I think everyone was surprised by it's winning but pleased due to it's subject matter. Everyone has agreed it was worthy.

I actually stopped watching around the time everyone was boycotting it...

It wasn't that long a speech - just a simple statement - maybe 50 words.

I want to see the film, too. It's so hard for us to see documentaries here in New Haven - we usually have to go into Manhattan to find them, and it's such a damn hassle (and expensive) just to see a film.

Thanks for the information. I have Netflix and can stream movies...it isn't the same as going to a theater but it's convenient. I usually have to wait to see something new...

I know what you mean about the cost of going to see a movie..I want surround sound (good surround) and a number of other things and have to travel to get that...

You can easily use the output headphone port on your CPU ( the tower) to plug into an input on a surround sound amp.

I do it all the time on YouTube - I have it all prewired, and I just plug in to 2.5 mm jack into the headphone output on the CPU - other end is a male RCA jack ( male to male ends) that is plugged into my surround sound amp.

Voila'. no need to ever buy new music, it has more milliamps than an MP3 player too, cuz if I use my Scandisk Mp3 player as the source, the milliamps aren't enough to drive my pre-amp in the surround sound amp.

Anyways -go to Radio Shack and get a male to male adaptor that fits your CPU out and your input's on your amp.
then you can watch YouTube ( or Netflix) and stil get the surround sound.

All good information and correct as well. I have been running my TV through the amp to my speakers for decades. I was speaking of the 'theater experience' which I can't afford to install in my house...

Did you know that the rich can and do buy speakers that cost $30,000...that isn't an entire set....and doesn't include the other equipment...

I wouldn't need anything that grand and am more than content with my smallish flat screen run through the amp...I can watch high quality picture and sound...what I want from a theater is much more for what I pay... and there are only a few theaters that meet those requirements in this area, and I have to travel to get to them.

Home theater is overated, unless you like subwoofers ( i don't). I got a nice set of Infinity speakers with graphite cones ( not paper) the graphite never distorts, and I get an even frequency response.

I don't get 5.1 sound from a stereo source, but does it matter?
The "synthetic surround sound" ( basically a phase shift delay) on the rear speakers gives me plenty of ambience.

I only play rock and rolls anyways," it's only rock and roll but i like it" (Stones)

same with my DVR -basic stuff, there are out puts on my TV too like the CPU, but I don't even bother, cuz I got a Toshiba LCD 46 inch for my living room, and the same in my bedroom.

I still got a VCR hooked up -tons of old rock tapes.

PS -$30,000 speakers? WHY???

I agree...for me it doesn't matter...any good sound works for me and I like rock and roll too...as well as classical etc...a variety, even Tibetan Bells.

The only reason I know about such things as $30,000 speakers is my son was in the industry (before he lost his job due to downsizing)...mostly it's R&D, engineering...superior sound reproduction. I don't know...why do people pay $100,000 for a car?

Subwoofers...I like but not as much as my son...Way too much too loud...LMAO

They don't appear to be open to such things as well presented factual information. For the most part they believe the hype from Brother Beck et al and consider anything that doesn't toe that line suspicious...so NO I don't think they'll watch it.

Which won't make any difference because we will watch it, and millions of others like us all over the world will watch it.

I'm not even sure what that is, i stopped trying to keep up with the hi-tech around 1990.
By that time they came out with 5.1 CD's -why?

Tibetian bells are cool, every once in awile i'll play some Buddist monks chanting if I meditate.
I have to be in the mood, and need to have no-one around to distract me - I'm not a very good "meditator" LOL
I prolly should be spending more time studying Buddism, and less time posting.

Subwoofers?? Naw. Been to too many rock and roll shows where the bass is turned up too loud.

I like it loud, but i stick to the audible hearing range

Gregorian Chants are cool too. I like all that stuff and like you have to be alone and in the mood for it to do it's magic.

When we were young the woofers rocked our entire bodies....maybe that's how it is....now we value our hearing LMAO
