Default Do we show enough appreciation of DCJ Moderator Bill Cosby?
I don't think we do. Bill is always very very busy with his responsibility to keep the multitude of members at DCJ enjoying their stay, and sometimes we forget to say "Thanks."

Bill's thoughtful posts have been a postive force in my life, and an inspiration for me to push on with my political opinions. I would imagine other members have also been motivated by Bill. Please share your appreciation for Bill Cosby in this special thread.

Please share those uplifting anecdotes that have illuminated your time at DCJ.

Cos is the ideal moderator. He is cordial, interacts and moderates subtly.

And he's not a "do as I say, not as I do" guy and I know that is a very difficult stance to take - especially if you're partaking in political discussion. It takes a lot of maturity and poise to be impartial and Bill does a nice job at it.

I moderated and ran political forums and I can tell you from experience that it sucks as a poster to force yourself into being impartial because you're playing the role of moderator. I don't care for it myself, but Cos is a natural at it IMO.

Cheers, and well done!

For those of us in advertising we say thank you by showing a sponsor's televison commercial.

Here is a heart-felt commercial that I hope will please our friend Bill Cosby with sentiments about common goals in DCJ.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9WFhdCsc3g
This uplifting commercial was made when Joan Crawford took the helm of the company, and was approved by her. This :60 spot may literally have saved Pepsi from bankruptcy in the 1960s. Let's hope the postive energy spreads to Bill, SirMoby, and DCJ. Take it as true gesture of appreciation of our American lifestyle, and the idea of "Yes we can."

Bill Cosby is the bestest. I have known him online for probably close to a decade and he's still the same person he's always been. Although we've always been at opposite ends of the political spectrum, his consistent courtesy and easy-going nature made him someone I highly respected.

Even-keeled, patient and not quick to anger, he is the poster child for being mentally grounded. Not once have I seen him have a "meltdown". Few people possess enough character not to become drunk with power when moderating a board, but BC does. Where others find power, Bill finds grace.

Thanks for all you do, Bill.

I am honored to call you my friend.

And, I thought I could lay it on thick. Seriously, I know your post is sincere. Minty, have you ever considered a career in advertising?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGSaE2QOd00

Before I worked for this advertising agency they released this commercial way back in the 1970s. They produced this commercial for Continental with risky sexual connotations for that time. However, Continental stole 14% of the L. A./Chicago business class customers from United. This commercial personally approved by CEO, Robert Six is now, advertising history studied in college classrooms!

Strange how things turn out, United is absorbing Continental. Bob Six built Continental, and his wife, Audrey Meadows joined in actively. This was the time when businesses were built by people who really cared about their customer's satisfaction. Perhaps you could create this kind of thing, Minty? Long form entertaining commercials maybe coming back with the advent of more satelite channels.

For now though this is apparently, a by-gone era. Where are these free-enterpriseing wheeler-dealers today? Evidently replaced with hedge fund managers.

Enterprising Continental Airlines President & Chair, Robert Six,
As some say, "There are no creative advertising agencies, only creative clients."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Six

The story is Robert Six saw Audrey Meadows on Jackie Gleason's Honeymooners, and decided he wanted to marry her!
True or not, Robert Six was in a postion to pursue and win her hand.

OMG this all looks like Unnecessary ass-smooching to me , the moderator should try to be the least intrusive figure on the board. And yet have the ability to speak his mind like everyone else. We got that in Bill , is there anyone besides me who forgot the travesty that used to be AWE?? Thank you Bill for welcoming the AWE refugees and that's all I really have to say about that.
