Davante Adams, Wide Receiver, 6-2, 200, Palo Alto, Calif. (Palo Alto)
He flew under the radar, despite playing for the CIF State Championship team. Had Pac-12 offers. Wasn't ever evaluated, will most likely end up a 3-star if he does. He runs a 4.48 forty and has a 42" vertical jump. John Archuleta, Offensive Line, 6-4, 270, Chandler, Ariz. (Hamilton) Ranked the top O-Lineman in Nevada after his Jr. year, moved to Arizona for his senior year and played for the D-5A state championship team. Allen Brown, Offensive Line, 6-4, 265, San Dimas, Calif. (San Dimas) Big kid, but only 17... will most likely greyshirt this year and enroll next spring. Devontae Butler, Athlete, 5-10, 200, Sacramento, Calif. (Grant) He's probably the biggest rabbit Hill has pulled out of his hat in recent memory. He committed to Washington State last year, but never enrolled. He was thought to be going to Washington State this year as well, and Hill was able to convince him to come here instead. He was a stud RB in high school, but will most likely play safety for us. Mershad Dillon, Defensive Line, 6-1, 260, Santa Maria, Calif. (Santa Maria) I've gushed about this kid a few different times... runs a 4.91 40, 4.50 shuttle, and 11.2 100m. He's incredibly fast for a kid his size, will most likely play DE for us. Ejiro Ederaine, Linebacker, 6-2, 190, Corona, Calif. (Santiago) Don't know much about him other than he will greyshirt this year, another 17-year-old kid with good upside. Suli Faletuipapai, Defensive Line, 6-3, 265, Gardena, Calif. (Junipero Serra) Doesn't have a lot of football experience, but a good tackler... expected to redshirt and then compete for a DE spot next season. Donavon Lewis, Defensive End, 6-3, 240, Fresno, Calif. (Clovis West) Brother of former Bulldog DT Chris Lewis, who played his last season with us last year. Explosive DE/LB, will most likely bulk up and play DE for us... could compete for a position on the 2-deep this season. Marcus McDade, Quarterback, 6-3, 190, Stockton, Calif. (Saint Mary's HS) I mentioned him yesterday... committed to us last year, but didn't end up enrolling because of grades. Went to a military academy this last year, kept his same weight, but increased muscle and dropped his body fat to 9%. He has arguably one of the biggest arms in the country, and according to some scouts can make vertical throws that some NFL QBs can't make. He'll redshirt this year, and compete for the starting job after Derek Carr leaves in 2-3 years. He mainly needs to work on his accuracy. Malique Micenheimer, Linebacker, 6-1, 225, Stockton, Calif. (McNair) Another very fast LB (our recruiting class this year is full of them)... named to the National High School Coaches association All-America team Karl Mickelson, Linebacker, 6-0, 215, San Diego, Calif. (Morse) Another LB... where we're going to fit all these kids is a question mark to me. I think we may be moving to a 4-2-5 defense, so we're going to need fast, athletic LBs.. and some of these guys could probably make a switch to safety at that point I suppose. Justin Northern, Offensive Line, 6-4, 270, Lakewood, Calif. (Mayfair) Another really big OL kid... considered to be one of the best in the state last season. Expected to compete for a spot on the line as early as this season. Maurice Poyadue, Defensive Line, 6-2, 280, Martinez, Calif. (Alhambra) Three technique DL, rated the 14th best player in the Bay Area this last season. Dillon Root, Running Back, 6-0, 180, Visalia, Calif. (Redwood) Explosive RB from my town... watched him play one game this year, really fast and very elusive. A 3-star prospect according to scout. Not sure if he'll redshirt this season or not... if he doesn't, he'll get very little playing time behind Robbie Rouse and Milton Knox. Jaamal Rose, Linebacker, 6-2, 200, San Jose, Calif. (Valley Christian) What in God's name are we going to do with all of these damn linebackers? ![]() Ronald Ussery, Defensive Line, 6-3, 230, Encino, Calif. (Crespi) Fast DE edge rusher... could play LB, but will most likely bulk up a bit to play the line. Especially with all of the other LB recruits. Charles Washington, Defensive Back, 5-11, 190, Encino, Calif. (Crespi) Good pickup, considered to be one of the best safeties in California this last year... 3-star prospect with good speed and coverage skills. Kyrie Wilson, Linebacker, 6-3, 210, Bakersfield, Calif. (Ridgeview) The best of our LB recruits... he was committed to Oregon, who then withdrew his offer after they landed some 4-star LBs after their run to the National Championship. Big pickup for us, and will have a very good chance to start his freshman year. Good class by all accounts, probably similar to last year's, dominated by defensive players. I just don't know what we're going to do with five linebackers. Especially when you consider that we have 6 already. |

Wow, this is just royally fucked up...
La Mirada (Calif.) offensive lineman E.J. Galvez was all set to sign with Nevada on Wednesday. A commit to the Pack since last May, Galvez finally got to take his official visit to Reno over the weekend. Then came news that blindsided Galvez and infuriated head coach Mike Moschetti. "We were at our banquet and I got a call from Coach Baumgartner that they didn't have room anymore for E.J.," said Moschetti. "Three days before Signing Day and they pull this? E.J. was devastated. Making it worse was Galvez had just been in Reno and was beaming about the visit. "He came home from his visit and was like 'Coach, I made the right choice, this was the school for me," said Moschetti. "They didn't even tell him on his visit. They waited until he came home. It's not fair and it's not right." http://recruiting.scout.com/2/1045013.html |

Speaking of family values.... you guys here about Floyd Raven's mom forging his signature to go to Ole Miss? Only problem (other than the obvious legal implications) was that he had decided to go to A&M.
