http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/040420...wednesday.html

what he's doing is de-railing englands world cup hopes,yes....the man who once said that if he ever got the england managers job he'd coach the team to lose.....if rooney plays with that ankle injury fergies an absolute tosser

It's a load of bollocks. If you go to the sources of the story they contain no quotes.

You should know better than to believe the papers.

Seems far too soon.

I can't believe he'd completely derail his own Premier League ambitions also over this though. There are still five or six games to go there, yes? Rooney goes down again and he'll be out of all of those

Rooney will be back in about 2 weeks. Now let's just say we beat Blackburn next Sunday, then he would be back for the Man City game (that is his target date) or if not that then certainly the Tottenham game.

So essentially we only have to cope without him for only one league game if what Rooney said (about him being back in 2 weeks) is true. Which wouldn't be that bad.

Of course it's all ifs and buts and we may well lose to Bayern on Wednesday and then Blackburn throw a spanner in the works next Sunday in which case the point becomes redundant.

I really don't think it's as easy as saying "Berbatov's a lazy cunt who doesn't work as hard as Rooney", it's a hell of a lot more deeper than that. Berbatov didn't actually play that badly yesterday, it was the shoddy midfield performance that cost us yesterday, and because Berbatov's been playing well lately it makes the initial excuse totally wrong.

If they lose on Wednesday they can still win the Premier League, and we all know how he wants to go one ahead of Liverpool in total titles

To win the Premiership we would have to win all of our remaining games, and hope Chelsea slip up once. That would guarantee the Title (of course it's way easier to say than to do).

The biggest problem is us winning all the games because honestly I think all of them could be tough in one way or another.

Blackburn away is always a physical contest and while they are not at the level they were in the Shearer/Sutton days they still try their best against the big boys.

We all know why Man City would want to beat us, and it has nothing to do with the Title.

Tottenham at home isn't the guaranteed three points it might be on other seasons because they are wanting that 4th place so badly.

Sunderland away is a tough one becasue while they'll probably be on the beach for that game, they'll certainly wants to claim a scalp (remember, they drew with us at Old Trafford, beat Arsenal and Liverpool)

Stoke on the final day should be a win, but they battle.

Chelsea have to go to Tottenham and Liverpool yet, and they could be banana skins, but if they emerge with maximum points from those two they'll win it because the other games are pretty much bankers.

Another point on Rooney, and this is interesting, we have actually lost 6 games WITH Rooney in the team.

Burnley, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Fulham.

Actually here's something I do when I'm bored. I'm going to do our season results , put the actual results first and then put in brackets what the score would have been had Rooney's goals been taken out.

Birmingham : 1-0 (0-0)
Burnley : 0-1 (0-1)
Wigan : 5-0 (3-0)
Tottenham : 3-1 (2-1)
Man City : 4-3 (3-3)
Stoke : 2-0 (2-0)
Sunderland 2-2 (2-2)
Bolton : 2-1 (2-1)
Liverpool : 0-2 (0-2)
Blackburn : 2-0 (1-0)
Chelsea : 0-1 (0-1)
Everton : 3-0 (3-0)
Portsmouth : 4-1 (1-1)
West Ham : 4-0 (3-0)
Aston Villa : 0-1 (0-1)
Wolves : 3-0 (2-0)
Fulham : 0-3 (0-3)
Hull 3-1 (1-1)
Wigan : 5-0 (4-0)
Birmingham : 1-1 (1-1)
Burnley : 3-0 (2-0)
Hull : 4-0 (0-0)
Arsenal : 3-1 (2-1)
Portsmouth : 5-0 (4-0)
Everton : 1-3 (1-3)
West Ham : 3-0 (2-0)
Wolves : 1-0 (1-0)
Fulham : 3-0 (1-0)
Liverpool : 2-1 (1-1)
Bolton : 4-0 (4-0)
Chelsea : 1-2 (1-2)

That's 57 points, which on current form would put us 6th in the Premiership. But while that proves we're worse off without Rooney, the games I put above that we lost with Rooney in the team, proves we're not that one man team poeople would have you believe.

He needs to get fit again ASAP so he has enough time to break his metatarsel.

It's not true.

You can't play a week after spraining ankle ligaments. It's not that its risky, it's just not possible.

Well Fergie could look a prize twat here. Wonder if he'll end up with egg on his face like Wenger did last week taking risks with Cesc and Gallas when not 100% fit.

United sure need a lift and hopefully he scores a hat trick in the first half and then goes off!

Couldn't be happier. Sorry united!

I knew it was over when Berbatov came on.
