And we're under way!! South Africa look in way over their heads. Mexico almost scored within the first two minutes, and just had another good chance.

I missed the first few minutes, but now Mexico seems all about possession but not attacking. It's annoying.

Edit: things picked up a little bit

It's still a bit boringly defensive.

The play was somewhat more balanced after the first five minutes. South Africa seems prone to alarming giveaways of the ball. They did have four corner kicks within the last five minutes of the half, one of which was very dangerous to Mexico.

Nevertheless, given the overall level of the first half, it's almost inconceivable that Mexico won't score a goal or two in the second half.

Excellent strike for the goal, but I wasn't watching at the time, and the replay didn't go back far enough to see how the play developed.

Counterattack.

Weak Mexico's defense is. Foresee this, I did not.

CBC's main livestream froze up around 73 minutes in. I switched to the high overhead stream just in time to see South Africa get the ball at midfield. I'm assuming Mexico just scored?

Indeed. Awful marking by SA defense.
