Report: Man who provided gun

WASHINGTON -- Federal agents have arrested a convicted murderer for allegedly providing the gun later used to kill ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair.

Adrian J. Gilliam Jr. was arrested by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

The complaint, signed by ATF agent Mickey French, charges Gilliam with illegally possessing a firearm, which he is barred from doing as a felon.

Detectives traced the gun to its 2002 sale at a pawn shop, according to the complaint. Gilliam eventually bought it from an individual for $100 about a year ago. According to court documents, Gilliam admitted to detectives he sold the gun to Kazemi for $100.

Federal prosecutors in Nashville planned to announce the case at a press conference later Friday.

Police announced in a news conference last week that Kazemi purchased "a fully loaded nine millimeter pistol from a private individual" who met her in the parking lot of the mall where she worked at a Dave & Busters restaurant.

Kazemi met the person when she was trying to sell her car. She mentioned to him that she was looking to buy a gun and he told her he had one for sale, police said. The sale took place two days before McNair's shooting.

It's official. CNN has confirmed that McNair's death is being ruled a murder/suicide. Very sad.

I definitely believe that McNair could have been living a double life unbeknownst to his family. That poor woman and poor kids.
Associate: Mechelle McNair didn't know of affair

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An associate said Wednesday that the wife of ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair didn't know about Sahel Kazemi before the 20-year-old woman was found dead alongside her husband on the Fourth of July.

McNair, 36, was shot four times in what the medical examiner said is very likely a murder-suicide, though police haven't confirmed that Kazemi was responsible.

Mike Mu, who has worked with McNair's charitable foundation for years, said Mechelle McNair "didn't know who this girl is."

Mechelle McNair, who has not spoken publicly since the shooting, has been described by people close to her as being very upset and distraught. Agent Bus Cook said McNair's wife was "in and out" of it in the hours after the shooting.

Nashville's assistant medical examiner said Wednesday that gunpowder residue was found on Kazemi's hands, moving authorities to "95 percent" certainty that she killed McNair and herself.

They are saying no defensive wounds, and therefore, he was asleep when she shot him.

Stories are coming out that the police may have botched the investigation into the murder/suicide. The timetable on when police say she ought the gun doesn't add up. They have her missing from work for two hours on one day (when she supposedly bought the gun), but it turns out they had the wrong day.

And Armen Keteyian, who is overseeing a CBS investigation, is promising to reveal a huge mistake by the cops tomorrow (Tuesday).

Whoa, I had totally forgotten about this story.

Assuming one of the two of them did both in, I'm not sure how much it matters which one it was.
