I can't imagine it having many fewer rallys... seems impossible. That must have been a really dark period for volleyball at the highest levels.

It was boring to watch for awhile when it was almost always Bump, Set, Spike, so there were just constant side-outs w/o the scoreboard moving very often before "Rally" scoring was instituted, or constant stoppages of play for lifts and illegal hits being called.
These rules changes are the main reason you can see so much volleyball on TV now, as the matches can fit better into the two hour windows E$$N allows.

I don't get why guys watch guys sports EXCEPT for volleyball?

He didn't say anything about watching men's volleyball being gay. He just said he had no desire to watch volleyball as a sport without the eye candy.

I don't think I have ever seen men's indoor vball. I enjoy watching the sport, I think the fakes and serves are awesome. I think I enjoy indoor more though.

No, people play it on the beach all the time, but there is no real "competitive" league that plays it.
