They contract out a lot of their production, if not all of it.

They could have contracted an American supplier. I doubt they have any, though.
I think most of those big name companies don't even make clothes.

I think we should be discussing more important things, you know like Hope Solo doing more interviews.
Screw interviews. I want to find a way into the Olympic Village. This is now my life goal.

And on it went for eight days as scores of Olympians, male and female, trickled into the shooter's house -- and that's what everyone called it, Shooters' House -- at all hours, stopping by an Oakley duffel bag overflowing with condoms procured from the village's helpful medical clinic. After a while, it dawned on Lakatos: "I'm running a friggin' brothel in the Olympic Village! I've never witnessed so much debauchery in my entire life."

Well of course that's the goal, but I haven't trained my whole life.

The thing that I find more offensive is the Polo logo that is bigger than anything else on the uniform. The rest is political grandstanding but, geez, at least put a USA logo on their chest instead of that offensive Polo thing.

Just looked....my flag was made in China. And it was purchased by a war vet. Shameful.

Just a small reminder to those making political hay over this. It's the free market at work. Deal with it.

Did you expect it to be made by a descendent of Betsy Ross?

You all realise these are only the things they wear in the opening ceremony - and maybe the closing though they are usually more informal. These are not the unis for the events which will have USA more prominently displayed. Usually the opening ceremony outfits do not have flags or country names on them, just country colors or country designs.

Or big offensive Ralph Lauren Polo logos.
How is a polo logo 'offensive'?

I realize it's not 'Patriotic' I would certainly agree with that. But how exactly is a man on a horse offensive?

Further validating my belief that some people just want to be offended for the sake of being offended.

Exactly.

Basic economics there. It's only really an issue when you have things like chinese truffles being passed off and sold as french truffles, with the price difference there making the big deal. Apparently due to the mafia we are doing this with olive oil all the time.

I laughed when the Feds shut down these foreign websites selling NFL jerseys for $20 and were saying they were defrauding their customers, who thought they were getting official jerseys. Bullshit. People ordering those ordered them because they were getting the same quality product for $20 instead of $80. They knew they were getting knockoffs. They just didn't care.
