I have some questions and would like very much to discuss them with a former Catholic Priest, or someone who actually has Apostolic Succession.
I believe we can all claim to have apostolic succession. From the early church, to the Great schism in the 11th Century, to the reformation in the 16th Century, to Anglicanism and onto Methodism, then to Pentecostalism and via Rev. Kirby J. Hensley (former pentecostal minister and founder of the ULC - 1959-1999), and on to us..

Ma was Irish Catholic family oriented,Pops was raised Baptist ,turned Episcopal back in 1960.
At college,I had 2 ex priests for Professors,one in Psych of adjustment class,like social psychology,the other for Philosophy of Ethics.Harmon on the philosophy,Tracy on the psych class.
As a inspirational reading a no. of yrs ago ,after Sunday services,I went thru the Catholic Catechism in a couple mo,like 50 or so pgs a wk,til I got thru it.
Goes to bookshelf,ah here it is:"The Intl Best Seller".
ISBN 0-385-47985-9,"Catechism of the Catholic Church"/825pgs,trade paperback,$14.95/
You could get it cheaper ,used at the www.alibris.com bookstore.They genlly charge $3.50 S/H,in additionto maybe 3 to $5.for the book itself.Image/doubleday pub.
Now,I consider myself a non-denom Universal Life Ch /protestant minister,being ordained in 1982,after a Assoc in Mental Health/Soc Work,A.A.Sc.,making me a registered Social Work Technician,S.W.T.,after my name as well.
Just clic the alibris link above to go there,& type the title into their search engine on cover pg./
PS,excerpt,pg613:"Respect for the dead,...The Church permits cremation,provided that it does not demonstrate a denial of faith in the ressurection of the body"

Started with Christ leaving the keys to the kingdom in Peters hands,ie,to take his place as head of the church.
The Apostles cast lots/tossed the dice, for Judas spot ,to decide who would fill his spot,when Matthias was chosen.
I had this catalog of occult items 16 yrs back,it said the Rabbi s would jiggle up & down ,in & out while praying & wearing a vest with pockets on it,& a breastplate made with various semi prescious gems on it.Something would fall out of a pocket,giving a indication towards something in the question in question=devining the will of God.One of my dads granddads on his moms side was named Lowry,was a baptist minister here,founded the Trinity baptist Church ,outside of Boiling Springs,NC,in the county where I reside.Hows that for apostolic sucession;or ,is that like succeeding from the union,protestant vs catholic ,as to your line of questioning on this?
Back in college/Philosophy class ,I had a term paper to research ,the library had a set of catholic encyclopedias.
Amazingly,I read the tithe was determined & wrote into the bible to be the will of God,by majority vote of the sanhedrin,olots of stuffs in there ,got there like that.
The Romans put it to them,saying you pay us tribute,or we ll kill you & put somebody in your places that will.So the reasoning went God wouldn t want that to happen.Up til this point,they had no currency,just barter,property was held more or less as communal.This started private property ,to be bought & sold,trade for coinage of the romans,such as for sacrificial animals on the temple .Probably instituting more sacrifices for sin to be written in,like raising money by putting in speed traps,as revenue. The money changers that Christ said turned the house of God into a den of theives.
Back to it,Martin Luther was ordained,taught seminary in Germany.Hes the one who started the protestant reformation1500/1533AD.60-80 yrs later,the Church of England said we believe as Martin Luther believes,we are English,therefore are going to do the services in English.The catholics started doing services in common tongue apx 1960.
Ch of England didn t fancy poor members in their church too much ,which started poor members branching off into more denominations.Next,Methodists off ch of England,as well as baptists,quakers,mormons,etc;Salvation Army is a branch off the Methodists;Penticostal is said to be a poor mans methodist/they branched off of them,best known penticostals are the church of God,& assenblies of God;The Universal Life Church was started by Rev Hensley,who used to be Penticostal,now ,ULCh is non-denom.Hensley,just said,Do that which is right,as a universal maxim,so everyone is free to worship as they see as being right under their roof,all are autonomous just like one baptist ch isn t responsable for what some other baptist ch is doing elsewhere.Lots of folks don t like gay/les/trans/bi/crossdressers,so theres more than a few congregations under the Universal life church banner in CA too,as well as other fringe/unwanted members getting their own church,economically disadvantaged,immigrants,singles,swingers?& such;
I think porn is a lesser of the evils next to prostitution,& masterbations a venial=petty sin 98% of the population does,& is at the same time considered a homosexual act. My dad took me to the metro episcopal ch in the miami areaits a gay friendlychurch,he went gay in his middle age.It should be your own private business as contrasted with the jehovahs witnesses saying its against church rules n regs,& some live their lives by prostitution,or are in a habit of frequenting women as a way of life/but should they be excluded /marginalized from the church;some major churches do that,but not necessarily so in your own church such as this one.I think the catholic priesthood could save themselves by using these as a release valve,so they wont be molesting ,if they d do these petty /venial sin.How bout the handicapped,like Im on a disability;/get your own worship thing together under the freedom of worship theme of the US Constitution,incl pagans of diverse types...
Hope this helps,look it up in concordance & religious dictionary,too.Concordance says see Acts 1.25 ,take part of this ministry and apostleship;1Co9.2:seal of mine apostleship
are ye in the lord;
Apostleship=doing that of a apostle/being a apostle,following in their examples/ ways,you might sayThe apostles were following in Christs example & teachings;.There was a classic called: "The Imitation of Christ".As Christ gave his example for us to be Christians,as espoused in the new testament & gospels.WWJD is a common new slant on thes+What Would Jesus Do?
My Great Aunt would say,Paul was a latter day saint,not of the apostolic successsion,but 1/2 the new testaments written by him.Look to Peter,when scripture conflicts,take Peters scripture as superior to Pauls,as Christ left the "Keys to the Kingdom", in Peters hands,not Pauls.
