Perhaps I am not understanding...I have been married twice, both were done by the justice of the peace, no church was involved in either.
To this day, I am really perplexed about people having a problem with gay marriage. If 2 (or more) consenting adults want to get legally married, or legally cohabitate, then, fine, get a licence and do so...if your religion of choice will allow you to have a religious ceromony, that's fine, too. Is that not how it is done at present? I wouldn't know for sure, no church was ever involved in any marriage ceromony of mine. I am not religious, so for me the question is moot. |

It doesnt. the argument digressed somewhat. It was an example of how the government is trying to dictate to a religious institution |
