The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali (pronounded Pa-taan-jalee) is a treasure map to discovering your true Self. It is a collection of 196 short phrases that are often chanted to enhance memorization, and to suffuse the energetic body with the meaning of the vibration. In Sanskrit it is said that word and meaning are one. By correctly pronouncing the Sutra(s), their meaning is integrated into the body/mind/spirit. Some believe this enhances later cognitive study of the text.
The Yoga Sutra are meant to be chanted, studied, and then brought to life through your practice (abhyasa). Paul JJ Alix is a Masterful Teacher who has dedicated his life to the study and practice of Yoga. His knowledge of Sanskrit rivals many scholars, and his passion for precise pronunciation hints at the vibrational importance of the sounds. The weekend is challenging, intensive and tremendously rewarding. Take your yoga practice off of the mat and into the mind in search of Eternal Truth. Enhance what you already know through discussion with a wise and compassionate teacher.
