Church of the Living Saviour is this week’s host church for the second week of the outdoor worship series at Gorgas Park. Lord willing it will actually be held outdoors!
Last week’s service, hosted by Pilgrim Church, met at Leverington Presbyterian Church due to soggy ground created by that day’s heavy rains. It was attended by approximately 90 people – which is pretty good considering the aftermath of the extreme weather. Attendance usually runs from 130 to 200 people. The one-hour service will begin at 6:30pm. Three sets of worship in song will feature Living Saviour’s characteristic mix of traditional and contemporary numbers. Between these will be a testimony by praise team leader Ken Durkin Jr. (including a solo of one of his original compositions) and some thoughts from Paul's Letter to the Hebrews offered by pastor Jack Kennedy. Woody Allen once remarked that 90% of life consists of showing up. So show up and shoot for the extra 10%. Sing heartily, listen carefully, and get to know the folks around you both before and after the service. |
