*whispers repeatedly in Muttkips ear: "American Bulldog!"*

ABs sure fit his bill and I hear there are a ton of them in the south.

Nope!!!! I'm good, the boyfriend is being soooo picky!!! It MUST be a dog that will be larger then 70lbs, has guard dogness, and can't be older then 10 weeks.....no wonder I've been looking for months -__-
D: we can pretend she's 70 Pounds. She sure tries to act like a damn Pit Bull! LOL

But I second the American Bulldog. I might own a mix, but I wouldn't trade her for the world. Very protective and alert.

Because I want to OWN my property before I get one. The AB is a compromise right now.

If you really want an AB, why not contact some rescues. I am sure there has got to be some around, instead of supporting byb.
http://americanbulldogrescue.org/ is one place that lists dogs from all over.

Because I don't want to rescue, I've rescued my fair share of dogs and no rescue would give a dog or puppy because it would live outside.

Default So I might have sent an e-mail.....
To a guy on Craigslist that is re-homing an American Bulldog puppy....asking about the re-homing fee and if the pup is male. There might be a slim chance, I'll have a Gambit on my hands

Though the pup looks like a mix of American Bulldog/Bully breed...I think he's cute and there's just something about the face, here's hoping the re-homing fee is cheap!! I may or may not get him, just curious

How old is that pup? Looks too young to be a "rehome".. Honestly, based solely on the age of the pup, I'd say it's probably a BYB trying to get rid of the last of the litter. Good luck.

He's super friggen adorable though.

According to the post he's 7 weeks old. But I've had pups that I raised from 5 weeks old with no issues, so age isn't too big of an issue really. I just want another dog badly and have looking for a few months now.

So here's hoping...maybe.

Sorry I wasn't worried about the age specifically either.. Just pointing out that age is the main reason I'm saying it's probably just a BYBer trying to get rid of the last pup.. Meaning it's not a "rehoming" fee if this is the pup's first home to begin with.. It's a purchase the pup kinda thing.

This might be true, but eh...again it depends on the price.

AmBulldog mixes are the best, at least that's what Abbey thinks.

They've been on my want list for a while now, I'm just kinda excited that I might have the chance to get one, but my hopes aren't to high.

Keep an eye out for potential BYB, they WILL lie and say it's a rehoming case because you cannot post breedings/puppies for sale on craigslist.

No worries, I know what to look for I've mostly been looking at free to good home pups, so far nothing I really like besides these Rottweiler/Catahoula/Beagle mix pups....that I might e-mail here soon about...if the s/o is on board.

Look at how cute he is!!

Any news?

Brings to mind a local CL situation. Someone had their 6 month old AB pup stolen and heard he was sold for a "rehoming fee to ensure good home" on CL. The owner has been posting pics trying to track down the thief and the person who bought the puppy. I feel so bad for them. I couldn't imagine how I'd cope if it was one of my dogs.

Well the guy wants too much for him, so no new puppy right now. I'll keep looking for a pup and the s/o doesn't want catahoulabeagles.....says that'd be too loud
