whats a matter with craiglist offerings for apartments? thats were i found mine and it was a good apartment. its your deal at the end of the day and as far as the name its not actually lying. its just like how people call there dogs American petbull terrier. its the same thing your just taking out the pit part. if you google search American bull terrier APBT images appear. i dont find it to be lieing. maybe a bit deceiving, but not lying. weight of the dog, youll see for yourself. they dont have scales in the office building. lieing on 10lbs is nothing. if there is a problem which i can serioulsly say there wont be all you have to say is he gained 10 lbs. there aint nothing wrong with that.

good luck though many places dont allow them and the max is 50lbs. if you have to do what you have to do at that moment of time you will do it too. 50lbs is the max at most places....... if not just find a rental home...... fyi i had to do what i had to do at that time of my life and i wasnt giving up the dog like a irresponsible person.

For one let me point out to you that giving your dog up because YOU need a home isn't irresponsible. I do not like craigslist. There are a lot of false ads on it around here and I've heard of too many people getting killed down here from craigslist ads. I'll pass.

50 max per dog. My dogs do not weigh 50 pounds. neither of them. So i don't see where that would have been an issue. But okay.

And read my post because way up there I said I wasn't going to to the apartment thing, but a private landlord (rental home) or buy my own home.

Craigslist is a very good place to find housing. Friend of mine just retired from the Army. Needs a place within the next few days so the Army can have an address to ship his stuff. Also has 3 kids and 2 dogs, so he needs 3 bedrooms and a landlord that will take his dogs. On CL he found a nice house in a beautiful area with a landlord willing to take the dogs and let him move in immediately because her son is in the service and she wants to help out a vet.

CL is a great resource for renters simply because its free ads, so every landlord and property management company under the sun posts their vacancies there. Sure, people still pay for ads in the newspaper, but a lot less than posting on CL and when renting with dogs you need to leave no stone unturned.

A lot of the time any breed restrictions are insurance based issues. Get a renters insurance policy that covers your dogs and let potential landlords know that your dogs are trained and insured.

Some landlords will have a blanket "no pet" policy. Doesn't mean you shouldn't inquire anyways. If you get to actually talk with a landlord and explain that your dogs are trained, not aggressive, kept under direct control at all times, insured, and that you are willing to pay a pet deposit and an additional lil bit monthly, you may be able to convince them to take you anyways. Just make sure to get the pets on the lease in writing.

When we were trying to move we made up folders for each dog with their vet records, their city license papers, their obedience class certificates, a letter from our vet and one from our trainer vouching for their temperaments, and a copy of our insurance policy showing the dogs were covered. We hadn't rented in years as we owned, but if we were moving from one rental to another I'd have included a letter from our current landlord stating the dogs haven't done any damage to the property and that they hadn't caused any problems.

For sure get into obedience class asap. The standard class is 6 weeks, one hour per week. If you want a certificate for each dog before you move it will take a while.

craigslist is a very good place to find rental homes and things, im renting a room in a home, i have one good roomie and one who is now, after he attacked calvin, staying contained, but i saw a lot of adds for houses for rent when i was looking, and alot of them are private owned and will allow pitublls, it wouldnt hurt to look, just a suggestion,

MJJ, I was actually thinking about the Classes thing. Its going to take probably damn near a year to get both dogs Classes all the way up to CGC. But at the same time, as much as I want to move out of this shit hole of a house........ (Sorry its true), and have my own private home and so forth; I do need to place both dogs in training. Jud starting with beginner and Snow with Intermediate (Then the baby is due in december so there will be a little while where I wont be able to do any training with the dogs). Though while I am waiting to do all of this; I can be putting back money. Which is what we are doing right now.

I am slowly working on the folder for the dogs. I have a binder some where with ALL of my pets that I have owned; their shot and medical records. I really need to find it. Its amongst books somewhere LOL. Also moving closer to Shreveport, LA; I need to make sure that there isn't any additional restrictions on the breed of dogs I own. As far as I know there isn't. But it never hurts to look.

There is this trailer on like 5 arces of land that I Really want. Its a double wide and has 3 beds and 1 bath. The property itself still has a for sale sign on it. But its no longer listed on the internet or on the Realtor site. My MIL knows the guy who is trying to sale the property and I want to get with her one day and see if we can contact him and find out what is up with the property. Maybe make a deal on it or something. Its been For sale for going on 2 years now. The market in this area is reallllly slow.

I'm rambling now, sorry. I have made it a habit before to call places even that said no pets allowed. I do plan on continuing that even if we have to find a rent to own or for rent home. ^^

Maybe the guy who owns the trailer will rent it to you since it's not selling or maybe he would sell it to you as a rent to own. If you decide to do a rent to own look over the agreement carefully and make sure everything is spelled out clearly including what portion of rent goes toward purchase and who is responsible for maintenance on the house, who is responsible for utilities, who is responsible when something breaks, etc.

If I were you, I'd stay away from apartments, though. I don't know about the rest of the country, but around here decent apartments are more expensive than renting houses and you have a lot more restrictions with a lot less privacy.

Yeah I was looking at that. Looked like way too much drama for what we'd be paying. Plus I like the idea of talking with this guy about a rent to own option. Hubby liked the idea too.

You can't stay where you are for the time being? Even with the baby? Your husband's gonna be on "Easier Street" in a bit so you cannot wait it out until then and buy your own house?

Billy I will snap you pictures of where I live and PM them to you. Then you decide if you would want a baby to live in this house.
