Default Sometimes I actually like my kid..
....even if she can't spell for shit.

A few days ago my 13 year old daughter, fresh off grounding, called to say she was going to be late getting home because she found 3 loose dogs, but they had tags with their address on them so she was going to escort them home. My husband, skeptical of her finding 3 dogs and a tad sick of her being late getting home, told her "Pics or it didn't happen and you'll be re-grounded." I, being even more skeptical, asked her what street the dogs lived on and jumped in the car to go see.

Yes, she actually did find 3 loose dogs, borrowed a rope from the neighbor, and took them home. The owner was a very nice lady who was very, very, grateful. She owns a mother dog of indeterminate lineage and her 2 daughters. She let them out in the yard and had no idea they got loose and wandered more than 5 blocks away. We even checked the fence and gate, couldn't see how they got out, but the woman said she will do a more thorough check later and start supervising until she gets the yard secure.

Here is my daughters FB post about it. Pardon the poor spelling, punctuation and grammar. We're working on it.

"im a doggy hero :3 3 dogs where running by my street yesterday so me being the dumb one goes and chases them and i didnt know if they would bite or not but i didnt care because im a doggy person so they stoped at this canadian guys house at the end off my block and he gave me a rope so i leased one of the dogs and the other 2 followed me 5 blocks to there home i found out that the dogs are sweet hearts and so dang adorable ♥ growing up with pitpulls and american bulldogs in my life really changed me because without my dogs i would have gone insane by now (: (sorry the pics blurry they wanted to run) — withJuicey Harris Isclearlydhabest and Melanie Jean.

And the pic she got on her cell of the dogs.

Thanks, guys. With her being at the bratty teen stage and dancing on my last nerve 90% of the time it's great when she does something good and reminds me that she will eventually grow up to be a decent human. Or at least nice to dogs

I would be so proud of her, what a nice thing to do. Having survived teenagers I sympathize with you, but it will get better. Anyone who loves dogs that much will definitely turn out to be a great person, if only mom and dad live through it!!!

Lol. I know it sounds strange when she says it online, but the guy at the very end of the block bought the house a few years ago and keeps to himself. All anyone knows about him is that he's from Canada, so he got tagged "Canadian Guy". He was outside when he saw her catch the mother dog and offered her the rope. He said he's "Not a dog person", but he was decent enough to offer the rope so she could get the dogs home.

You mean I may have a hope in hell of taking a vacation in about a decade if she keeps going in this direction? *swoon*

5 boys, huh? I prefer boys to the girls. My aunt has 4 boys and always laments the fact that she never had a daughter. Having 2 daughters and a son I don't get it. The boy child never gives me a moments trouble, the girls are nothing but drama. I'd trade one teenage girl for 2 teenage boys any day!
