Random Question: How long have you owned your pet? When the time comes and your pet passes on, do you think you'd own another?
I've been a mommy to my cat(s) since 1999. One is now deceased. Now I have just my baby. She's 11 years old. I guess not such a baby anymore. She's remained the same weight for the past 7 years and still kickin'. As much as I adore her I'm not sure I would get another kitten. I just enjoy her time as part of our family, while she's here. |

My fiance and I got our first animal together around Valentine's day. She's a grayhound/yellow lab mix named Saydee. Sadly, soon after we got her she developed parvo but I'm so glad to say she survived and it only made our bond stronger. She's still a crazy, high-energy puppy and since we have a baby on the way I'm eagerly awaiting the day she can just chill, but we love her ever so much.

I have had my cat for 13 years. My sister's cat is a few years old at this point.... maybe 4? I can't remember now. Man, she's getting older than I thought! Our dog is also 13, but we've only had him for a few years.
I don't know when I'll get another pet, regardless of if one passes away. I know my cat is getting old and she could go at any time. I don't think I want to get another right away, though. |

I had my cat, homer, for around 18-19 years. He turned up home one day with an odd look to his jaw. Took him to vets and vet said either broken or dislocated. either way he'd have to have xray etc and vet doubted he'd survive it. So had to have him put down. Was one of the hardest things I've done in life so far. He was my little soldier, was a few years ago now though so easier to talk about.
But my family had gotten kittens/cats since then. I just never really felt the same as a pet as Homer was. We've got this new cat from a few months ago and she's fine. But still not the kind of connection? that I had with homer. Quite strange to try to explain it. |
