We have a yellow lab/greyhound mix and her name is Saydee. I named her after my childhood pet Sadie, but we changed the spelling because I didn't want the word "sad" to be in the name. I know it's a very common, cliche pet name especially for dogs but she's so sweet and timid. It just fit! We all live with my sister who has her own pets:

Stella the black lab (named after Dave Matthews' daughter)
Diggy the black cat
Sophie the tabby cat
Dallas the long-haired tabby cat (we are watching her for a friend who was deployed.)

We have four ferrets - Nibbler (by name and by nature), Dexter - after the series, Spike - my mum named him, Rudey - have no idea where this name came from.. and Baz. Cause he looked like a baz.

My parents generally go for pretty stupid names. I will to go for ironic ones. My snake is called Fluffy.

I have two cats. One is a young Bengal named Phoebe. The other is an elderly manx named Tabitha. We refer to Tabitha as the cat with multiple names. During the first eight years of her life, she was called Stumpy because she has no tail. Her previous owners who named her Stumpy neglected and abused her for that eight years. They finally did her a favor by putting her in a shelter where she was named Bobbie Jean and sometimes called Bobbie. When we picked her up from the shelter, we named her Tabitha, but we still have to call her Stumpy when we want her attention.

In my house we have:

Corbie - my mothers yorkshire terrier
Oscar - my sisters cockerspaniel/poodle mix

My dads dogs:

Chunky - yorkshire terrier (Corbie's brother from a later litter)
Rocky - mix of 3 breeds (rescued from a family that couldn't care for them anymore)

We also had a bunch of pets throughout my life who are now passed on.
We shall have a moment of silence and mention them.

Lacy, Tipsy, and Lucky. We miss you all.

I personally have two dogs. One is a Poodle & Maltese mix, and my other dog is a Miniature Pinscher. The Poodle mix is named Molly and my Miniature Pinscher is named Sammy. They're both females, and great dogs! Sammy is high spirited and non stop energy, whereas Molly is very very smart and more reserved. They make a great mix and get along with each other well!

Our current ones:

Dog - Buddy. We didn't name him. He had the name for 13 years before he came our way.

Cats - Pepsi (also didn't name her) and Neko (Japanese for 'cat', but we pronounce it with a long 'e' like "Nee-ko").

I named my dogs Duke and Duchess. Duke is around 8 years old, and I’m not sure what made me choose that name at the time. Duchess is over a year old, and I chose her name to match Duke. They almost look identical, so I thought it was cute.

I have quite a few pets.
Jen has decided to name some of mine. my bro names another.
My tortoise is called "Peek-a-boo"
Female Royal python "Cyndi" After Cyndi Lauper.
Male Royal Python "Jagger" After Mick Jagger

Um, Albino male leo "Bert" not sure why tho.
I like the idea of naming them after famous people. I am going to start doing this on my next pets.

My dog's name is Dakota. i didn't have any say in the choice of name at all - my wife picked the name. I didn't really care for the name, nor did I even want a poodle at the time, but those were battles I just didn't feel like fighting. I've learned to live with the name. The dog is super smart and does not shed, so that was a huge plus for me now.
