We had have four cats, but two years ago after my most recent addition, the newest had four kittens. She was pregnant before I got her and didn't know it. So that is 8 total. It was lots of fun though having all those kittens running around! They were so precious and I was so sad when they were all given away. However, four adult cats are much easier to care for!

Default How many..
..cats have you owned simultaneously?

I once lived in an animal sanctuary, which held NINE cats, four dogs, over fifty rabbits and guinea pigs, and around a hundred assorted rodents. To say it was utterly insane, was an understatement, but I loved it. I couldn't open my bedroom door, without a parade of cats coming in, to position themselves on my bed, clothes, around my shoes, and desk. It's one thing to listen to one, or even two cats demand their breakfast, but listening to nine yowl at me, as well as the squeaking from guineapigs etc, got a little weird.

The plus side to all of that, was the fact that the cats weren't obsessed with 'playing' with the rodents and such, because they were used to them being around, there was no desire to kill and eat. It was very lovely to watch one particular cat, nuzzling a newborn guinea pig. Anyone who has cared for pigs, knows the start running about as soon as they're birthed.

Two. We had one then got another and it has been two since then. I don't think I would see myself getting anymore at this point.

I've previously owned 2 cats simultaneously before. My eldest was 4 years older than the baby. They didn't get along well but stayed out of each others way. If my eldest was still alive she would have been 15 years old. My youngest one, who is still with me is 11 years young.

Before meeting my girlfriend, I think the most we had in our household at any time was 2. However, now with my girlfriend at ours, we have 3 cats. Not too many :P But I have a whole room dedicated to my reptiles.

We used to have a bunch of outside cats at one time. It was a lot to feed, but there was no litter box scooping or anything involved.

For inside cats, I've never had more than 2 or 3 at a time.

Just recently I had 3 cats and they all had a litter of kittens so that would make it like 15 at one time. They were all born like two weeks a part. Luckily litter by litter I had found all of the kittens homes except I kept the one I bottle fed. The last litter the mama cat took off and left 4 kittens orphaned. I had lost all of the kittens in that litter except for one.

I never owned more than one pet until now. I have Phoebe, the two year old Bengal, and Tabitha, the 13 year old manx. Cats are not as high maintenance as dogs, but I have found out that having two cats is a lot of work compared to having one, especially when you spoil them rotten the way I do.
