Seriously? This story is true? Although I think it's crazy that a town would elect a cat as a mayor, I almost get it! If the candidates were that bad to the point the town felt a cat is worth voting for then so be it. That must show everyone just how awful the towns people thought of the human candidates. Ouch, I'd say that's a slap in the face indeed, but at the same time hilarious.

Default Cat Mayor Celebrates 15 Years On The Job
A town in Alaska has a part-Manx cat with a short tail for a mayor. This adorable little guy was elected shortly after his birth ,which means at one point they had a kitten for a mayor (cute overload)!

He was elected as a write-in candidate because the residents didn't like any of the human candidates that were running.

This mayor is really in touch with the people of the community because he hangs out at the general store all day.

What do you think? Is it cute to elect a mayor who can bury his own poop, or just a ridiculous idea?

I think it's adorable. It's kind of unfortunate that they don't have a real political leader in place for that position, but if the rest of the council can take care of things, then so be it. That cat is probably more beneficial than a lot of mayors anyway.
