I'm not sure how else to describe it, but Amy gets positively silly when it's cool outside. I noticed it last fall when the temperature dropped - she would be scampering about like crazy, straining to get a good look at people (tail wagging playfully), biting and thrashing sticks around, prancing and rolling in the grass, etc. It's like she reverts to being a puppy or something (she's about a year and a half). It's not bad - it's kind of funny but I do keep her away from people when she's in these moods because she might try to jump up (I can tell when she starts thinking about it).

Does anyone else have a dog that does this?

Yep! Three of mine do! They LOVE the cooler weather and go crazy with it! There is nothing like cold weather ZOOMIES! all over the house. Sometimes we even have to stand on chairs for a minute until they aren't so crazy

Yep, Trigger always responds to cooler weather with the zoomies (he does zoomies anyway!) He will run from one end of the yard to the other, non stop.

It's normal in dogs, and more so in this breed.

I love the zoomies, when they really tuck their butts under and run all willy nilly with stupid grins! My dogs do light up when its cooler weather, and (luckily?) living in a northern climate we get TONS of it......yuck.

I guess it's a slight payoff...

3 of mine love to frolic in the yard and zoom around in the cold weather. They get positively retarded when there is snow on the ground and act like they have never been part of a civilized home. Ike, however, only likes the weather to be just right. Not hot, not cool, no snow and no rain or he just runs back into the house,lol.
