Default Can dogs ell time...or..Pitbull alarm clocks..
Can dogs tell time?

Living in Texas,it gets HOT...So I started walking my dog at 5am to avoid the heat when i got up..

So at 5am every morning my staffie is sitting at the foot of my bed,or on my chest licking me at 5:05am if i havent gotten up yet...EVERY MORNING ON THE DOT...

But as the weather got cooler,I would put off walking her til later (which she didnt like) but she was still ready to go at 5am on the dot...

Can dogs tell time?

Once you establish a daily pattern, i think they are very good at keeping up with that exact time. My dogs are both up exactly at 6:30am, regardless of weather my alarm goes off or not.

Humans can adjust thier circadian rhythms over time...your internal clock...I think most animals whether diurnal or nocturnal, have the same rhythms.

Mine know what time the school bus runs. They start looking out the window for it about 5 mins before.

Mine wakes up to pee the same time every morning, and knows exactly when its time to eat and lets me know if i'm running late with the food.

Amy would sleep until noon if I let her. I wake up, she burrows deeper under the blankets. I overslept majorly for work once when I was adjusting to a new medication and woke up at 9:30am (I usually am up at 5:30) and she was snoring happily next to me.
