Default HELP NEEDED .. looking for pitbull friendly living
good morning everyone

my fiance and i are currently trying to move to cape coral, fl
and we are wondering if anyone can refer us to pet friendly living that does not have a breed restriction policy with pit-bulls.
any information would be greatly appreciated.

There's a good sticky on this at the top of the page:
Renting With Your Dog Regardless of Breed

Bottom line - you'll have a much better shot renting from a homeowner rather than an apartment company. I'm a landlady and I would be willing to rent to a pit bull owner provided the dog had a canine good citizen certificate and they agreed to never leave the dog unsupervised in the yard.

i have no problem with taking her to obedience school and to be honest my pup doesn't even like to go outdoors shes a homebody. i am trying so hard to move out of new york but who would have thought i would be running into this problem. i was shocked when i first heard breed restrictions. i have even offered to pay more money in rent a month for my pup, leave a deposit for her and keep her muzzled when bringing her outdoors if needed but no ones seems to care =[

Are you talking to individual landlords or apartment management companies? It's the unfortunate reality of life with a pit bull

They're not doing it to be jerks - they're worried about their own liability and their insurance may not even allow them to have some breeds there.

i must have looked on every website ive went through real estate agents and asked if they can discuss it with the owner and told them what extra i would do and precautions i would take but it just seems no one cares. it has everything to do with the insurance companies.
