Alright so one of our pups we took to the vet believing he had kennel cough vet said nope he is good and sent us home.. well then all 3 of our dogs got kennel cough.. we went to other vet and got antibiotics i dont remember the name it was doxy something and a cough supressent hydrocodone or something like that.. well all three of the dogs havent coughed or anything in 3 days and they have only 2 days left in their treatment.. well this morning when i got off work from one of my jobs i was sitting in my room and heard my big dog like coughing/choking like sound so went to go out their because she isnt aloud out unsupervized right now and found my new roomate left the backdoor open and all 3 of the dogs were outside and the little blue puppy was on her side not breathing.. i ran over and rolled her over opened her mouth and she had a rock in her throat i pulled it out and she like gasped real big and then just laid there breathing slowly so i took her to a vet and she is all good now.. but violet is still making like she is going to throw up noise.. expecially when she gets excited.. my roommate says its reverse sneezing which idts could it be the kennel cough again? or something else she has been doing it for 5 hours now when she gets excited and if she drinks water it stops or if i rub her throat it stops

I don't know about kennel cough but...when Sema was getting over pneumonia, her cough lingered long after the meds were gone and the vet said the infection was gone. She would cough when excited, too. (and then shed lose control of her bladder, which made housebreaking a joy) The vet told me that it's like when we get the flu and the cough sticks around for weeks and not to worry unless the nasal discharge came back or she started coughing up the nasty mucus again. But yeah that dry, hacking, almost like she was going to puke cough lasted for a long time. Again, she had pneumonia, so I don't know if it's the same for kennel cough, but maybe you could call the vet and ask?
