Sorry if this is the wrong section but didnt really know where to put it. So tonight I was asked to take in a 7 month old Old English Bulldogge. He had when bought by a "breeder" and then about a month ago they found out his hips are bad so she "needed" him gone. I picked him up at the breeders house he was very friendly to me and Kahne. I had brought Kahne with me to see how reacted to other dogs. They sniffed on leash but I kept it breif I really just wanted to see his reaction to dogs. Hes now here at my house crated in my bedroom away from Duch and Kahne. I will be keeping them apart for atleast a week so he can destress and get to know me before he meets them. I did let duch and kahne sniff the crate, they both sniffed wagged there tails in a nutral way and walked away. When he meets them The boyfriend and I will take Duch and the new dog on a walk and slowly move closer untill we feel everything will go well. Same with Kahne and the new dog. He is not cage trained so right now he is in the crate winning and barking but thankfully hes a big lazy bulldog and seems like hes going to pass out soon. I have not corrected him for barking more just doing the whole ignoring him thing. Any suggestions on things to keep in mind it feels like its been forever since I brought a neww dog into the house and I just want to make sure evrything goes as smoothly as it can.
Also need a name for the big ham. Who wants to name the big stinky bulldog? Sorry the pictures are crappy just tried to get some without stressing him out? |
