Well b/c I actually want an am bully. I prefer their bigger look and I have read they have better temperaments, require less exercise ect. I don't care if people call it a mutt or whatever because its not a "real" apbt because that's not what I want anyway. Y Welcome to the forum....

The bloodlines are American Bully and as stated stay away from breeders that want more for papers. It cost 20.00 to register a whole litter. I just registered 8 pups for 20.00 that was about 2.50 a pup. I have never understood why some breeders charge more for papers....

As stated there are many of these type dogs in shelters, also a good breeder will often times GIVE a pup for free to a pet home if the dog has a fault. As a matter fact I gave two pups to pet homes this last litter with papers for FREE because the pups were not show quality, of course they had to sign a contract that the pup would be fixed that I am even paying for because I am responsible for my litters.

Now with that said, I have not clue who told you that the American Bully did not need as much exercise but they were WRONG! They need as much or more then the APBT, granted they have very little work drive but they do tend to lay around and become very obese and that is not good for their health. Because of their lack of drive it is not always an easy task to get them to take that daily walk but they do need exercise.

THIS!! Rescues are FULL of "pit bull type" dogs that are big, Am Bully style things.

I sent you a PM.
Hopefully you can find what you're looking for from breeder or rescue/shelter.

Who said that just beacuse they dont have drive they become obese? lol. My male is the laziest thing I have ever met and he is FAR from a hippo....Is it just me or do I see a hint of rib? lol I am just messin with ya Karma, I agree 100%. Excersize is always key even if they dont like it.

Sorry for the pose, he thought he was gonna fall off the logs lol

Seriously check into shelters locally and look on Petfinder.com. There are tons of Am Bullies looking for homes. They'll likely be listed as Pit Bulls or Pit Bull mixes. You can get a young one much cheaper than this breeder was charging. It never ceases to amaze me people spend so much $$ for a big blue dog because they like the idea of it or the image and then can't handle owning a dog, so they drop them off at the pound or to a rescue.

I am not familiar with what you have listed, but I think the forums folks would better be able to help you if you could tell us what you want the dog to do. Will it be a pet? A dog you compete in show or sports with? If so, which sports and/or which registry would you be showing through?

---------- Post added at 09:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:49 AM ----------

Oh, and generally it is considered a possible red flag if the breeder asks for more money to give you papers.

I did some fast googling and came up with a tiny bit of info on the dogs listed. What you have there seems to be an Am Bully pup from a basic crap BYB. I am by far no expert, but that is the impression I got from a few websites mentioning dogs of those names.

---------- Post added at 10:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:26 AM ----------

In my opinion, if you aren't going to be showing or breeding or competing with the pup then the papers are pretty worthless and it doesn't much matter what lines he came from or how he was bred other than for possible health issues and behavior.

I have 3 dogs that could have been papered, but since they are just pets and not working or competing, I didn't bother with the papers as I honestly have no use for them. It would be different if I had been looking for a dog that I could work or show, though. Then the lines and papers mean something

If you just want a pet, I'd recommend looking at a rescue. No sense in throwing away hundreds of dollars on a crap bred dog!

It means, in THIS case, that "MW Brasco" appears two times in the pedigree; and that "Shortshot" appears 10x in the pedigree, etc.

These are breeders that are enamored of names and how "impressive" it is to see those names so often in a pedigree.

BIG red flag -- on top of the word "Bully" it's TWO big red flags...

there are ambullys in shelters. and like sagebrush said, the 2x is just how many time a dog appears in the pedigree to make it some sort of "pretty paper" breeding that they think is worth more, which its not.

I wouldn't deal with someone who wants to charge extra for the papers. That is always a red flag for me.
