I rescued sadie 4 months after my other dog died and she is the first pit bull I have owned. All I have to say is this breed is amazing! I did some research when I decided to get a new dog and other than all the negative crap about them, the positives won me over. I have had sadie 3 months now and she has done nothing but impress me. She is easy to train, gets along great with kids, and melts the heart of everyone she meets. Even the people that do not like pit bulls, she wins over. Any way I was just wondering what type she is because I am no expert and I have been reading for months on the history of the breed but it depends on who u talk to and what u read. So I figured I would just ask. Sadies 7 months old now.

With getting her from a shelter all she is is a dog she could be a full blooded apbt but you will never know it's fine just accept her as being a dog but I would defiantly make sure an say she is a mutt, a rescue, a dog whatever just don't tell people she is an apbt because you really don't know no one does

Of course there is no way to know for sure without a pedigree as others have stated, and without a pedigree from a REPUTABLE breeder its not a sure thing.
With that being said and just going by looks, I think its safe to say she definitely has some "pit bull" type in her. So I would definitely expect her to have certain traits or characteristics that pit bulls have and that will be important for you to know. I advise you to continue in your research with this breed so you will what is "normal" for the breed and what isn't. Stick around this board and you will learn. She's a pretty girl! |

Yep it's hard to tell just by looking. Even if we could see her in real life we wouldn't be able to know for sure. Some pit mixes look pretty pure APBT. Or like was said, she could be purebred for all you know. Without a pedigree you can never know for sure, but going by appearance, she does look like a common pet-bred pit bull type. Lovely coloring and congrats on your rescue!
