Default Your thoughts??
Ran across this video.

Just curious on your thoughts of the mothers correction.

Think the specific part Im referring to is around 1:50.

Looks like a very typical correction from a mother, to me. These puppies look to be about 5 to 7 weeks old, and this is exactly what I would expect to see in the way of corrections from mom. This is exactly the time when puppies are learning pecking order and manners. Mom will be weaning them very shortly if she has not started already. This was a lesson that puppies who are sold at 5 to 7 weeks of age miss out on, that can create problems later down the line.

She looks like a great momma to me!

she looks fine to me the pup wasn't hurt just upset. It seems to me that momma is just teaching them how to behave. Cats are a lot meaner to their kittens than dogs are to pups.

From what I've seen, It looked to be normal to me also. But, I was curious to what others thought of the whole FOOD aggression as it was listed...LOL.

Lol. That's not food aggression at all. It's just a mother disciplining a puppy for not waiting it's turn

Too me it looks like a strong warning or possibly a small case of food aggression.
The only reason I say this is because with our female's 1 and only litter... she never 'corrected' pups for wanting to eat food.
She shared her food, shared her meaty bones, and her toys... if the pups wanted it, she would share and eventually just kinda give it to them.
Maybe she was just spoiling her pups lol.
But then again, that's the only litter I've been around.... I don't have much experience.

I have two problems with the video.
My biggest problem with the video...it's too short! Those puppies are adorable and I could have watched a MUCH longer video. LOL
The other problem I had was when the puppy yelped, it scared Rosie and she left the room (she gets upset when other dogs yelp)
Other than that, I don't think the mother did anything wrong. Just teaching the puppy manners. She didn't hurt it at all, just startled it.
If I was around 10 human babies for even just a couple hours, I wouldn't be half as tolerant as that momma was.

I don't see anything too concerning there.. just a strong correction from mom.

And thanks, my puppy fever is now even worse.

Definately not food aggression. She warned that puppy away more than once, and he kept coming back. Actually, she was teaching that puppy a very valuable lesson.

I'd like to know what camera was used and those puppies just triggered my overload cuteness

I wouldn't be an expert evaluator for a mother dog and her pups, but it just comes off as a simple correction in my vision.

That's how pups learn. that's why they should stay with with their pack family and not ditched too young! It's all about the DRAMA

Yeah, looks pretty normal to me, too. Not overly severe at all. Momma gave a warning growl a couple times and then a snap when the pup ignored the growl. I watched Rita, Ike, and Owen correct Renee the same way for about 2 weeks before Renee figured out how to mind her manners when it came to toys, play, and cuddling. And Renee was with her litter and momma until 8 weeks, but she didn't generalize well. Her momma and litter did correct her and she listened, but she seemed to think that the warning growl and light snap were unique to her family and didn't apply when it came from other dogs.

Know why he's cuddling that pup? Because puppies are evil and holding the pup like that is the only way to catch some sleep!!!
