Default Sad Pity story from the UK
I'll tell you now, this story does not end well. But it IS what got me in to volunteer work at my local dog shelter here in London.
Two years ago I went to write an article on all the abandoned/stray Staffies clogging up our rescue shelters. (I'm a journalist).
When I arrived, someone had just tied these tow dogs up outside with a piece of string and run away.
The pictures speak for themselves. And the comments below between me and some of my friends explain just how ridiculous our BSL is in the UK. Sadly they will never change it.

Incompatible Browser | Facebook

I should point out that despite what had been done to these dogs, they were both so friendly. The adult male would not let the pup more than six feet away from him and screamed like I have never heard a dog scream when he thought they were being separated.
I'm only sharing this on here now as I looked at those pictures for the first time in two years. At least in America - where I believe most of you are from - these dogs have some hope of survival at many rescue centres.
Anyway. Since then I and my girlfriend have gone down and helped out every week for half a day. So some good came of it.

That's horrible. Literally so upset. It's funny reading the comments how people here in the UK don't actually know what an apbt looks like. They both clearly are...

Did they get put down BTW?

The sad part is, that here in the US... pups like that are found all the time. In the last 5 years or so, that I have worked for the local 24 ER and critical care facility on the Kitsap Peninsula (which is basically rural), we have seen dogs in the same condition at LEAST once or twice a year, if not more often. Some of them worse off than them. People are monsters.. We had a pup come in, that had been tied to a pasture fence for at least a week. People in the neighborhood heard occasional whining or barking, but everybody assumed that it was a neighbor's dog. The grass hadn't been mowed for a while, so he wasn't visible.
Yes, BSL is wrong... but sometimes I wonder if more dogs actually suffer here, because we allow people to own them and neglect and mistreat them. I really hate people a little more every day.
