Jay Jay isn't dog aggressive, but he turns into a spaz because he wants to play soo bad. My fear is, if he ever got loose, people would mistake his playing for aggressiveness. He's never off the leash for this reason and is getting very good at maintaining composure when we walk past other people with their dogs.
What really annoys the hell out of me is situations like last night. On our 3 mile walk we encountered FIVE (5) loose dogs who ran up to him and tried playing..all of them smaller than him. The owners nonchalantly walking up and saying "come on, (insert name)." What if my 80+ lb pit bull/ mastiff was DA? Or, what if he plays too aggressively with the smaller dog( which he does). We had no option but to stop and I'd pick up his front legs and hold him while he attempted To go nuts as this dog jumped on him. why can't people put their dogs on a damn leash?! Rant over. |
