Ike hates it when I shove his huge butt through the door and force him to go potty in the rain. He also hates it when I have to wash his muzzle because he has something on it. it's like washing a toddlers face. I grab a wash cloth and he heads for the hills. I catch him and wipe his face while he grumbles and tries to squirm away.
Rita hates it when I have to check, clean and then medicate her ears. She tries to hide under the desk or the back of the crate and when I say the word "ears" she starts watching me from a distance to see if I was just talking or if I look like I am getting out the meds and coming for her. Owen hates it when I play with his feet. I love basset feet! The basset, however, thinks it's dumb that I tickle and kiss his feet and will either sigh and allow it for a few minutes or grumble and waddle off. Renee hates it when the other dogs have a toy she wants and I refuse to go get it for her. She'll sit near me and whine, look at me, look at the toy, whine, repeat. If I decide not to go take the toy and give it to her, she will grumble-wooowooowooo bark and then sigh disgustedly and go mope. |

He always pulls away like "Heyyy" But then the foot goes back to the same position and I do it again ![]() |

^^Haaa!! Bentley hates it when I pick him up. But I only do it if he's being stubborn. I can't pick him up properly cause he's about 60lbs of awkward weight. So I get behind above him and get my arms behind his front legs and pick him up and move him no more than 10'.. I don't do this anymore but I used to do it when he refused to go to his cage. He wouldn't be happy at all and he'd end up in his cage to sulk. A few times of doing this and he caught on that he would be lifted up and moved if he didn't move himself.

Harley hates it when I start getting ready to leave on days I go visit my mom. As soon as he realizes what Im doing he will go pout in his crate (normally hes out in the living room in the mornings looking out the front door). And he literally pouts, he will just lay there with his head down staring at the wall and wont look at me (unless I talk to him, he cant resist that)
He also hates baths. He does whatever you tell him to do (I dont have to push/shove to get him in) but he makes the most pathetic face like your just killing him while hes being washed. |

Bentley hates it when I have to grab his face to clean something off or clean some eye gunk out. He absolutely hate getting his ears checked/cleaned. He runs away and I have to chase after him and put a slip lead on him. And then he mopes around afterward. He's a master at acting like I'm the worst person in the world. And God help me on bath day. I have to leash him, walk him upstairs, pull him in to the bathroom while someone else shoves from behind, close the door, lift all 83lbs into the tub, have someone hold him while I was and rinse and then he won't come near me or the bathroom or even the hallway that leads to the bathroom for at least 3 hours. I have tried treats, I have tried calm logic...nothing doing. He just hates water with a passion. Bath water, pool water, lake water, rain water...Hell, he even hates snow because it's wet. He's so pitiful he won't even walk in puddles. ---------- Post added at 10:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:34 AM ---------- He also hates baths. Rita, being a freak, actually likes baths. She'll jump in the tub, wait for it to fill and she and even lifts her legs so I can wash her pits when I get to her undercarriage. |
