Got told on today's walk how adorable Slayer was by a man walking a little poodle mix. Slayer was pretty tired so she was nice and calm so we talked for a few minutes. He asked what breed she was..and I told him a pit bull mix. He looked at me and laughed and said there wasn't an ounce of pit bull in her and she looks like his brothers Lab mix..... o.O then he told me pit's are a lot heavier and bigger then she is.
Honestly..THIS face is a lab?? ![]() |

You'll always hear this rubbish, trust me I use to think it would minimize, but it just doesn't. People will always believe pitbulls are suppose to look more like ambully's. Unless you happen to have a miracle one day and do come across someone with a brain indeed

everyone knows that it isnt a pitbull unless they are carrying a dead baby around in its mouth....DUH This reminds me of a time I was sitting with Bindah when she was a little puppy on the tailgate of my truck in the parking lot of Wal Mart. I was annoyed over something as it was, and when a woman started to walk by and literally yanked her small child off her feet to swing her about the other side of her away from us, I smiled and said, "Don't worry, she already ate a few babies this morning!" I know it was horrible for the breed image, but I was a pissy teenager LOL |

Lol and that reminds me of the time I took Cleo to a new vet. When I walked in there were several dog owners sitting on one side of the waiting room, there was a lab, a Shepard, and what I think was some sort of adorable furry lap dog. Well when I went to the counter to check in, the receptionist asked what breed Cleo was. As soon as I said a pitbull and turned to sit with the others, they all got up and moved to the other side of the room. I felt so sorry for Cleo, cause as a puppy all she wanted to do was make a friend. Well mommy instincts kicked in and I was like "really? She's a real threat huh?" lol people are funny

I don't know what it is with people confusing Bull & Terrier type dogs with Lab all the time. We were at an event this weekend and there was this beautiful Pit Bull mix up for adoption. Well this couple came up and started asking questions about him to the lady in charge. Is this a Pit Bull/Corgi mix. She was like No he is not. He is a pit bull/ boxer mix. They continued to argue that with those ears he had to mixed with Corgi. He had bat ears. I went on to explain that "Bat Ears" are common in the APBT breed. I also added that to me personally he looked like he wasn't mixed. He didn't look well bred but he didn't look mixed. However he did have a docked tail and I think that is where they (the rescue) were getting boxer mix. He was a pretty boy though and a real sweetheart. They passed on him though. But the average joe off the street is really not that breed savy. They thought because he had "Bat Ears" that he was part Corgi. That dog was all APBT in my honest opinion. He might have been mixed but he could have fooled me. |
