Default You're right, Darla Mae is NOT a Pit Bull
But do we have opinions on what she is? It's my sisters dog, and we have always been so curious and always guessing. I'm asking you all, since you have more experience than our average opinionated person.

Yes, we have established she is "a dog" (you can't shit a shitter)

She howls like a hound and walks like a rottie, if that helps. No papers. She is purely Mutt, but seems to be every KiND. Her mother was a pregnant hurricane Katrina rescue.

My sis wanted to do doggy dna testing, but after Kady05's post, maybe you all would have more reliable answers.

She looks a little like a mutt, my family had when I was really little, and I believe Dad told me that Daisy was a beagle/shepherd mix.

Why do people always say shepherd with that coloring? This constantly baffles me...

I could totally see something hound. And I see Lab in there too. I've met some labs that were blocky like Rotties are and moved like them because of it.

Since my sisters name is Arwen, that is MORE than fitting!

-----------------

What about those pointer/hounds? Or is that beagle? I always thought beagles were short, long, fat and obnoxious?

That's why I put up the puppy pics too, her coloring has changed over the years (well and my cameras), but pretty drastically imo...

Hound is something we have always wondered about, she does the "stand and point" thing when she see's something. And she is very observant, a sight dog.

The color made me think more on the beagle end than shepherd end.

Body and face looks houndish to me. I'd say she is a hound mix but with what? you will never know

I would say beagle/shepherd. And the coloring is not necessarily why I say GSD. If you take your hand and cover up her head in that last picture, her conformation also slightly resembles a GSD.

I would call her a Foxhound mix. I don't really see Shepherd. She is a beauty!
