Default ear cropping pictures
hi everyone! so im getting my puppies ears cropped in about 2 weeks, hes 8 weeks right now, and was wondering if any of yall had pix of your puppies crops when they had them done and after they healed. im leaning more towards a a show crop or somewhere between a short and show (definitely dont want a short tho)... this is diesel, which crop do yall think would look better?

thank you!

ps- i know theres a lot of ppl here who do not approve of crops but im not here to debate. i have another pittie who i did not crop and i love his floppy ears but i do love the look of a good crop and can finally afford it so iv decided to do it with diesel. i just want some nice feedback and no fighting

Search ear crop, and theres a few threads that will pop up with alot of photos. I personally like between a short and a show, it gives just the right height, best of luck.

Well, I'm one who would never crop a dog that's not going to show, but that's just me. I see no point in doing it otherwise. Please make sure you go to a very good vet, and look at crops that vet has done before you let them do your ear crop. Nothing worse than a crappy crop job.

But, here's a couple pictures of Sako (he's an Am. Staff) about a week after he was cropped (show crop) at the breeders:

and the most current of him, at about 4 1/2 months, before I clipped all the fuzzies out:

Did you have Sweetie's tail docked? SHE LOOKS SO CUTE!!!

Very terrier-ish, I like it! I love butt-wigglers, it must also be nice to not get whipped around all the time lol.

I'm not really sure what you call it, I guess Arson's would be a short-medium show crop, this vet likes to crop based on their head structure. Sydney's is more of just a short crop...

I took that pic in, too, as it's my pup's dam, URO1 UWPO UWPCHX GRCH 'PR' Delmarvas Jhnsns Wish On A Star, CGC (Star).. but the vet screwed up big time, and this is what I got:
Couple days after:

healed:

As you can see, her right ear is bigger than the left.. and NOTHING like her mom's crop.

I got the right ear re-done, and this is her now:

Now I avoid taking head-on shots, because the difference is still noticeable.. and she has some built up scar tissue on the re-cropped ear.

So be prepared for similar complications. I went to a recommended vet and everything.. but he still messed up. I would still get a crop done in the future, and hope it goes better than Indie's.

edit: I'd call Indie's a crop between a short and a show. I like her cropped.. and as long as I don't look for the mistake, or start rubbing her ears and feeling how they're different, I like how it makes her look.

We have so many ear-crop questions.. can we make a sticky?

probably just wagging her tail. a tail crop on an adult dog is EXTREMELY painful and only done usually if the tail is injured in some way.

I'm pretty sure that dog's tail is docked. When or why it was done I don't know...

Sweetie's tail is docked.

And I'm pretty sure she was a pup when it was done, so no harm was done.
Its just the preference of the owner, obviously.

Just like some people like cropped ears, some people like docked tails.
