Honestly, it doesn't matter. Depending on where you live it will be called a pit bull no matter what, just based on looks alone.

So the "Irish Staffordshire" is the same thing as the Staffordshire Bull Terrier?

Or are they just Staffordshire Bull Terriers bred for more height?

Carla
this starts up a huge argument between two sides... lol last time someone asked this, it was like watching someone ask if ambullys are pit bulls mixed with am staffs.

The Irish thing is a whole debate in itself. Basically from a laymans viewpoint, anything which is slightly taller than kc standard tends to get labelled as "Irish". A non biased viewer may say they are simply out of standard staffords, tall staffords, working staffords... the list of names goes on and on. Knowing how typical they are in the UK these days (as common as rare blue dogs) the likelihood of it being a staffy or staffy cross is pretty high.

He looks like a "normal" bred SBT to me but since they were all the same dogs 120 years ago or so there's no way to tell.

DutchGame are you going to tell me that the SBT and APBT were not the same breed in England/Ireland in the 1800's?
