I have a chain gang. All of my dogs are on chain set ups. The wife agree's with the chain set ups and when I was considering getting a 10x10 kennel she said it was a bad idea because the dogs had more room on the chain.. I knew it would be less room but was surprised that she knew it would be less room for the dog.

I have a crate and chain setups. I prefer the chain for my pit bull as he will bloody himself trying to get out of the crate. The Doberman does better inside as she just isn't as well equipped to handle the cold as the pit bull is. Usually though, they each have their time inside and outside.

I'm in no position to use a chain spot sadly so crating is my choice. Beside the fact I don't have the area for a proper set up outside, I do not trust my dogs for a half a second outside unattended. I have had multiple people way to interested in both my mutts and they have stolen animals in the past, not going to take the risk they will steal either turd of mine lol. Now if I lived in a less populated I'd consider a chain spot but luckily both mine love their crates and that's the way it is.
As long as the dogs are properly contained I have no issues with either crating or chaining. These laws that prohibit tie outs make me sick, While yes some people abuse them for the most part they are more helpful then harmful. Zoe worded it perfectly and I got a good chuckle out of Sheeple!!
