Does anyone know anything about New Mexico Dogs Deserve Better? They sound like a wonderful idea. But.... all I can find is on facebook and its just what they want me to read. And I don't want to start helping and find myself working with a bunch of nuts. They put a lot of dogs in foster and up for adoption. And they ask for funds. Any idea what they really do?? Thanks. Been helping dogs forever and if they are the real deal thats great news.

Dogs Deserve Better is a bullshit organization that spreads bullshit and tries to pass bullshit laws about how to contain your pets. According to them, anyone that tethers a dog is automatically an animal abuser, but they don't seem to realize that it is just as easy for assholes to abuse/neglect an animal if it's living in the house. They are a horrible organization and are helping to take away our rights as pet owners. Helping them is as bad as helping the HSUS or Peta.

The more I read the crazier it sounds. I liked the helping with fencing and dog houses. And this local group linkes itself with a spay/neuter van that travels the state and helps out folks with little or no money. (turns out the link is not on Dogs Deserve Better end, just a couple of them are in the same groups.) And they help some people with food. BUT.. there have been a lot of dogs come up missing lately, and some of the "rescue" people are starting to talk about just taking animals if they think the owner isn't taking care of them. I think that is wrong. I also agreed with the person that posted on Santa Fe craigslist about them a few weeks ago. They go in yards and feed dogs when no one is home, and that is trespass. They say its not. Course they found a pit that was in bad shape and took her from there. But that is another story.
