Default This old tymer asks?
So I'll ask y'all, I was talking with this old tymer a month or so ago and he ask me a question that I had no answer for I'm sure he's gonna give me one(well his) one day but here it is

" would you rather have a game(proven) dog that could show in the show ring good or a show dog with gameness?"

Now I have thought about that and I can't really figure out what my answer will be to give him just thought I'd see what y'all had to say

A game dog for show, or, a show dog thats game. I have a feeling I'm missing something here but it sounds like the same dog to me.

OK, JS, heres my take on this....the 'proven' game dog will no longer be pretty enough for show.(battle scars) The show dog with gameness would also have battle scars otherwise how would you know if its game or not. sounds like old tymer is asking you a trick question and your answer should be "yes, I'll take that one"

Don't the show judges like a little gameness in the dogs?

Maybe I may be even saying it wrong

Maybe it's suppose to be a game dog that can show or a show dog that has no game maybe that's why I couldn't answer it

well, here in the states united, if the dog is game proven, it is a dog that has been in illegal activity, or it is one damned old dog....
so, i reckon I would go with the show dog that is game....(but unproven), it is likely to live longer....

Game is Game, show dog or non show dog. Game is Game. It's like being a little bit pregnant.
There is no half step.
And a dog that has been in a yard accident and has a scar or 2, a scratch or 2, can still be shown and can still win a ribbon. Might not go all the way to Nationals, but a ribbon can be won. Use Nu-Stock to grow the hair back.
And it isn't "gameness" the show judges do or don't like. It is DA. NOT the same thing.

Actually Tera, to be proven it wouldn't need to have scars, there are things to put on the dogs that grows hair back and it does work.May not be in a week but it works,I have seen it work on dogs that have gotten scarred from a stray going into a yard and tearing into a GSD,it had scars but with this stuff the hair grew back.
So he could have a proven dog that is able to show in the ring and look good, but that's not saying it would win in the ring. Go with proven anytime.

Does this stuff work on people also? My Dad needs a lot of it if it does. So does my neighbor.

Well, you'd be the one to send 'em some would'nt you. The next thing would be to figure a way to actually get 'em to rub it on their heads AND get it on video.

the word proven is the key, there is no other way to tell gameness even in the same
litter or who sire and dam is or what they look like
