Default What color is this pup?
What would you say is the color of this pup? He looks blue to me but with a red nose? I've never seen a pit bull with this combo but I know from reading these forums pit bulls come in all colors.

From that picture, the pup doesn't look blue, but I can't seem to find that particular color on the ADBA color chart. From the other chart I have it seems closest to Coco Fawn with a red nose.

I'd say Champagne...

which apparently is a newish "designer color".

I had no idea...when we got our dog the breeder said she was Champagne...I thought it was a typical pit bull color...but apparently not.

The BYB is asking $300 for him...no papers and only 1 set of shots. I'm supposed to see him in person this weekend and I'll try and take better pics.

I would not buy this dog, what would you do if you bought him/her and it died right away from being sick. Or later down the line?

Lilac, it's diluted red/red nose. Not a fan of lightly pigmented dogs myself.

champagne, or known as lilac/isabella/pearl in other breeds. i think it's a red/chocolate dilution?
it's not a rare color here in Georgia, i see it all the time here.
i hope it's a healthy puppy, good luck to you- and if the situation doesn't feel right, don't feel obligated to get him/her- like i said the color is pretty common.

I think its "lilac" or "champagne" as well.... The BYB that has 3-4 litters at a time here sells them for $3,000-$5,000 each. But hey, at least they go on sale for the holidays

Here's my story:
The pup you see in my avatar was killed by a car. Roxy (4mos) was my/our first pit bull and my kids are DEVASTATED as are me and my wife. I'm responsible because she was run over while I was out front taking out the trash. Although she was leashed...it didn't do any good because I let it go. It's a hard lessoned learned but a lesson learned none the less. Our family put so much time in with her and her training. Owning Roxy has taught us alot about responsibility and I feel it's unfair that my negligence has caused my family this pain. I'm not trying to replace Roxy...nothing can replace her! But we are interested in getting another puppy and searching the classifieds I came across this pup.

If you know this pup is from a BYB, why are you even humoring him?

If you buy the pup, you are endorsing backyard breeding and making this guy's job more profitable and easier.

BYB will only stop when they get stuck with a whole bunch of dogs that no one wants and they have to pay for. With the profits dry up, then they will stop. (but alas, that won't ever happen )

I'm sorry to hear about your dog, but don't let that tragic accident be the reason you support all what's wrong with these dogs.

There are some wonderful reputable and responsible breeders out there. Go that route.

Cynleo, I'd say possibly Fawn Brindle with White going by the ADBA chart.

I would keep looking. $300 is a lot to pay for a pup (IMO), especially one with no papers or known lineage. That is more than I have paid for any of my dogs.
