So I had to go into the local pet/yard/etc. supply today and get some Nature's Miracle. While I was at it I had them make Scout a cheapo tag because she's been wearing a name tag from several owners ago. I know terrible right?

Anywho the girl doing it for me asked what kind of dog she was, so I tell her that she's a GSD/husky mix. She gets all excited and is like omg I love German Shepherds!! Then come to find out she says she is getting a puppy soon... Aaaaand I make the mistake of asking what breeder because I know most of them around here through Schutzhund and whatnot.

Apparently its a friend who, get this, can't manage to catch his bitch between litters to get her spayed before the male ties her again.

And apparently they are meant for breeding only and its legit because they have papers. *beats head on desk*

I tried to educate. I said ask about OFA and asked if they work. Both those got a massive blank look.... I said you know Schutzhund? She had no clue. Its only the test specifically designed for the breed! I gave a recommendation of a reputable WG showline breeder around here that has nice dogs. Her only response was the big eyed, but its free!! I'm like um yeah with all the health problems the breed has that isn't going to be free and rattled off some HD info. I mean geeze you don't even get a 100% guaruntee with a well bred dog because there are so many contributing factors. Ugh, I might as well have been speaking Chinese for all the good it did. *eye twitch*

At least I was polite. Though as I was leaving I mentioned the nice purebred 2 year old bitch that is currently at a local rescue...

Wow. I imagine myself in positions like that and my stress level goes up lol I cant handle people who a so stupid. I mean being uneducated is one thing but being plain stupid is another. At least you tried that's all one can do now a days

Ugh it kills me to think what poor shape that bitch must be in after that many puppies... especially because you know they are probably also feeding crap. Poor thing must be totally wrung out. Seriously spay/abort the poor thing already.

I kinda can't stand byb's even more since having Scout live with me. People just don't get how painful it is to watch a dog that just isn't wired right try to function normally. I can't fix her poor genetics and I'd like to strangle the bastard "breeder" that was hoarding those damn dogs. She's a lot more stable than most from that bust were I hear, but I seriously want to pummel that guy every time she terrified of stupid stuff for no reason.
