Default Seriously? My dog is ridiculous...and perhaps OCD.
So...I finally went out and got the Taste of the Wild dog food for Rigby...and after mixing in a little bit less than half with her old dog food tonight for dinner...she sits there for 20 MINUTES and picks out only her old kibble from the TOTW bits.

Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!

This is after, of course, she systematically ran all the toys in her kennel, and her blanket, one by one, from her kennel to her play bed in the front room.

AHHHH what is wrong with my dog?!

Too funny.

Is she eating the TOTW or just eating the old kibble?

I have a speeding-train-of-the-tracks-vacuum as a dog; I don't have these problems .

Just the old kibble.

She eventually ate it when I hand fed it to her, but seriously! Neurotic much?

My dogs did the same thing but picked out the TOTW and left the Science Diet... So much for a slow change...

Too funny! Would you believe Pooh did just the opposite when we changed to TOTW? I started out giving him 3/4 Royal Canin and 1/4 TOTW. He took small mouthfuls and put them on the floor so he could eat just the TOTW!!

Edit: Just realized ZoeyBear had the same experience!

Too cute!

I don't have that problem with Mollie, she sucks down everything in sight. One day, I'm afraid she will suck up the floors as well. Bella on the other hand, hardly eats anything.

question: anyone here have a dog that will carry at least three kibbles from their bowl to the other side of the house, lay down, eat it....
return to their bowl only to repeat the same thing?

it drives me bonkers! why can't she just sit there and eat like my faithful basset hound?

That's funny...picking the old food out over the new. When cupcake was on blue buffalo she'd pick out the little black balls of vitamins ( I forget what they were called by blue buffalo ), spit them out and just eat the regular food. She'll do this with her current food as well but will eat it after eating the others...

doofus...

Rigby started picking up a couple bits and running to the front room to eat, rinse, repeat, but I broke her of that habit by feeding her in her kennel and closing the door for a few times. I don't have that problem (with dinner) anymore...just treats now, like pills in cheese.

I think I managed to find a solution to her picky eating...by putting a tablespoon of yogurt in the food to disquise the new food. If she had picked out her food out of that goopey mess, we would have been off to the dog psychologist in a hot minute. The next meal was a piece of cake after that.

My chihuahua always did this. It used to drive my husband nuts. My dogs now don't though - I think they know if they don't eat it and try to leave it unattended, it won't be there when they return
