As some of you know from reading my posts Me and my wife love the bullies.She works at a local SPCA well here is a sad story.A lady came in yesterday with two kids a a pit puppy that they had found wondering near there home.It came in with toys and a blanket.She said they came to give up the dog as the husband was afraid that this pit bull would attack there children someday.They tried to convince him to keep the dog ( hence the toys) but he wouldn't have it.The wife and kids were in tears , the kids were begging there mom to not leave him there.My wife tried to dispel some of the myths , and then asked my wife if she would take it home.My wife said if i do i met a divorce ( jokingly) and the woman asked why does your husband hate pit bulls too.She said no he loves them but we already have a house full (3).She said oh you have no kids , and my wifes reply yah we have 5 kids who also love the dogs and the dogs love them.With five kids we also have all sorts of kids in and out of the house at all times and they greet each one the same waging tales and wet tongues.
The woman seemed then more determined to go home and speak again to the hubby, but i am not holding out alot of hope some people jus have the ideas that they have been fed by the media and thats it.Sad really now this 3-5 month old pup sits in a crate in the shelter.

Wow.
The sad thing is that happens everywhere. If i had a dollar for every person who doesn't get or keep a dog because its a 'pitbull' Id have been rich long ago. It makes me so mad, even one of the most helpful person at the HS here is scared of them. She gives her all to help any other dog but she doesn't for any pitbull type dog.

If we, pit bull owners, would all band together and QUIT PUTTING MONEY INTO THE HANDS OF BYBS, whether it be from buying a pup or the diluted thinking that one is giving the money in order to "rescue" the pup, then the number of "pit bulls" out in the world would start to go down.

As it is, it's "cool" to own a "pit bull". It's even cooler to breed your "pit bull". And then, if you're lucky, you're just plain badass if your friend gives you or sells you one of his byb pups.

How terribly sad. I have kids and would take the pup if I wasn't already full up,too! I hope you end up updating us with she came back and picked the pup up.
